Got our new front page up tonight... will be tweaking it over the next few days and begin the updating process for the whole site... new colors, designs, graphics, navigation, code, etc....

I know a few of you will say: "hey Allen, it's looking great, but can you twist that widget to the left by .38 degrees, so when I wear my favorite shades, I won't have to push them up on the bridge of my nose to see it?"

I'll say: "sure, and when you are up with me at 4:00 am every night to adjust it, we'll set it up just for your favorite shades.."

We may also be beta testing the software that runs our forums. A new version is coming out that's a complete rewrite of the code it runs on... should be faster and much more configurable. I have it up on a test site, will probably add it in as soon as private messages are added in... maybe a week or 2.

i cant check my private messages...it tells me who they r from...but wheni click on the message it brings me to a message that contains nothing...it says "posted" and the sender is unregistered...

Hey...not that I'm rushing ya. Please don't think that I am...I know you've got, like TONS of stuff that you're working on. But whenever you are done...is there any possible way you could fix it to where it brings us back to the end of the thread whenever we post somethin'? My stinkin computer is sooooo slow that it takes forever to post, and then forever and a day to get back to view what I posted! But really...no rush. I can prolly put up with it for another month or so...I'm just spoiled!

yeah yeah yeah... that broke a while back when I did something else...

the deal is, I plan to update us to the whole brand new spankin new software in about 2 weeks... we'll be beta testing it here after a few more of the bugs are worked out and private messages are integrated...

Which reminds me, if you have pm's you wanna save for any reason... this new private message doo-hickey is integrated into the software. The parent company that makes the forum software like what we did so much with the private message add-on, they are integrating it directly into the software, which is good, but it'll be written differently and not be able to read the old pm's... which ain't so good for those who like to store plenty of'm up for the winter.... yes, you know who you are as well....

The new software will be much faster and more stable, great for those on slow computers...

I have a complaint here .... my computer is not being able to connect and i have only been able to get on without it kicking me off due to the graphics but once. what is the suggestion ? get a new computer ? dont get online ? allen ??? and aanother thing ... (dont i sound female ?) i dont know how to use all these fancy font changes etc. and one more ... Let me see... your name is Jennifer... under your screen name it says "Disciple", not sure what you want it to say, but that is what it goes to after 100 posts, you had 103 when you made the above post.

Graphics... not sure what problem you are having, but the graphics now are much less than what were here just last week... and it's the same graphics on every page, so you only download them once, your browser just uses the sames one over and over each page you enter. Besides the little buttons you might see here and there, there's only 3 graphics on the whole page, and they are relatively small by most standards (3.5k, 3.5k, and 3k bytes). The old site had ~15-20 on each page... some of them quite large.

Fancy fonts... you don't have to use them, but they are there if you choose to take the time to play with them... aaannnndddd.. the general color scheme now makes it easier to read whatever fonts you decide to use...

Overall, the newer forum should be easier to use, faster to download, and easier on the eyes than the old one...

Some people mentioned problems with the gallery, sorry. When I upgraded the software last month, apparently we lost the keywords we had put in, I'll need to go back and put those in so people can search by name.

The other problem with being able to save the images to your own computer has been fixed... you are welcome to any images you would like... I'll be getting more put up this week, including a new section on the progress of our new building...
