We inherited original sin from Adam and Eve.

Evolution isn't reconcilable with creation.

I believe it's real.. and why not? we had to come from someone - someone was the first couple. And the more I think about it, the more I see that evolution isn't reconcilable with creation.

Forbidden fruit - the Bible says it was fruit, so again, why not? We know fruit was just the vehicle for the temptation, but it would seem it would have been an easy temptation to avoid, but it was their first temptation and their inexperience/lack of faith was showing.

I was just trying to see if there were any folks that bought into the notion that creation was achieved through divinely directed evolution - highly plausible and not entirely in conflict with scripture.

After all it is irrefutable that species adapt and evolve slightly (i.e. appendix, or our pinky toes).

As for the forbidden fruit, I also agree that there was indeed some sort of fruit. Nonetheless, I have heard in certain circles that the fruit is merely symbolic and the forbidden they really partook of was each other. Personally, I consider that view a little heretical, but I was just wondering if there were any here that felt that way.

The last paragraph I believe they were made for each other, otherwise why would He have made 2 of every animal?

Adam and Eve, sure. There is no evidence to support that they were hypothetical Even if one were an evolutionist they must conclude that there has to be ONE homo sapiens couple that was first. Otherwise even their own models would have to be rewritten in regards to an evolutionary jump en-masse.


I agree with adaptation and natural selection. The premise of evolution (the growing of an apendage/organ/ability because of a preexisting need. ie growing lungs so one can breathe air that one is already living in....) is preposterous.

Fruit? It could have been. But if it was going to tempt me it would have been no apple that is for sure. LOL Sex the original sin? Not likely. How else were they to procreate "each after its own kind" The was a great shortage of in vitro supplies back then I hear....
