Schools in Jasper had to fight this year for "Christmas break" as some certain officials thought they would be cute and complain about how Christmas is a Christian holiday and it violates the interest of non-Christians to call it such. They reasoned that it should either be called some sort of term break or "holiday break" or do away with it at all.
How's THAT for separation of church and state?
And on a seemingly unrelated note--however much more related than meets the eye at first glance--some liberal *@$#!%^!!! (for lack of a better term) are saying that Abstinance should not be taught as a form of safe sex in school because abstinance is a "religious-based teaching" and should not be allowed to permeate the school curriculum any longer. *Religious folk have a tendancy to push their way into the school systems and force their oppinions into the classrooms...this detremental message of abstinance has to be stopped!* Was the jest of what the spokesperson had to say... It is in the best interest of our country that church and state remain separate.

Is it time to get involved? Anybody understand what I'm sayin? How can we chant one nation under God and hold in our hands every day the words "In God We Trust"? and....oh, you get my point (stepping off of my soapbox now...) Just had to get that off my chest...
