The year is 1940, and the US is smack dab in the middle of World War II. Tension in the air is cut only by the roar of airplane engines in the sky over head. Men and women alike are uniting in the WAR CAUSE and going to work in artillery shops, hospitals, and other military institutions in the name of PATRIOTISM.
There was born a new generation of young adults. A era championed by soldiers and civilians alike that said they would not be denied the right to unite in a cause or mandate that they believed in so whole heartedly that they would even die for it.
These young adults were birthed with a reckless abandonment for life that was seen and heard in their dance and music. America had learned to "LET HER HAIR DOWN" and it was called "THE SWING." Big bands and musical greats like "Basey," and "Spooner," filled the airwaves and played on every phonograph from Georgia to Germany. It was a sound that would ring throughout a war and into the next millennium.

So is everyone ready? i almost have my outfit, I just need a skirt. If any of you are still looking for costumes, I have tried every costume shop in this area and they don't have anything. i said if all else fails, I'll just go as a factory worker . So where in terrell park is it? I tried to go out one day and help lisa decorate but I couldn't find it. Im hoping I can ride with someone, so if any of you are gracious enough to come pick me up. . . let me know, please!

Some dudes will be wearin zoot suits (you can actually rent one pretty cheap this time of year), some will be wearin WWII military uniforms (ditto), others will be wearin whatever they can find that's clean...

No Kidding! I have gone to every costume, resale, theatre shop and have finally completed my outfit. well, it all else failed, I would have just gone as a factory worker!
