I haven't seen the film yet, but I have always found myself jotting down or making mental notes of things I really want to do before I get called Home. In no particular order, a couple of my things are:

See a Jimmy Buffet concert
Travel the Pacific Coast Highway from bottom to top
Learn sign language and interpret worship music in church.
Cruise to Alaska

What's on your list? smile

If you are serious about travel, go to www.travelocity.com, sign up/in and set some travel watch preferences - say you want to travel to Florence, Italy, but aren't right now because of prices. Tell it to let you know when flights to Florence are less than $400 (or whatever level you are comfortable with that's still reasonable). Travelocity will send you an email when the pricing drops to your level.

If you are not concerned with frills, Southwest has the "Ding" feature on their site that you can download. Every day they send out specials on flights that are not sold out and they want to fill. That's how I travel all the time. I have gotten tickets as low as $47 each way to Florida. yay It works for anywhere Southwest travels, you just have to put in your desired airports. smile

yeah... southwest just crams us into some small areas. It's difficult to get a row with a little leg room (exit/front) when traveling southwest. I really don't like having to line up hours ahead to get a decent seat too, especially when I usually plan weeks/months ahead for trips. I've looked for a different flight just because I couldn't get a decent seat on a particular flight. Maybe if I were shorter... smile

LOL... well, you were not alone in those concerns, sooooo as a customer service initiative, they did away with the lining up. You do have to sit in front of your machine 24 hours in advance of your departure and speed click on your reservation (the second the clock strikes your time) to check in on-line. When you do it assigns you a position. At the gate they call for boarding by zone first then position. I got 7 once but usually get 18 or so. So only pre-boarders (handicap/wheelchairs) go on before you, then numbers 1-30, then 31-60 and so on... Not as bad as camping out on the floor to reserve your seat. smile

Yeah, that was our experience going to NYC and back, the problem is it may be a continuing flight so no-telling what seats are available, plus you still line up by groups, even if you get #1 you have to be ahead in line of the other 9 in your group if you want the desirable seats. And whatever you are doing you have to be in front of a computer at exactly 24 hours ahead of flight time to get your number. Not worth it to save the $30-40 per seat I might save when I get tickets a month or 2 ahead of time anyways. Getting to the airport and on the plane is stressful enough without the extra drama and I don't have to worry about flight seats out during the middle of my vacation/business trip.

Another way I save is to go to www.kayak.com or http://farechase.yahoo.com - these sites search all the travel/airline sites (I think kayak searches more) for desired flight times, locations and price.

I'd like to take a trip with each of my boys... a road trip... one of my sons is sort of a history buff... i would like to take him to DC and see the historical sites there... my other son loves the outdoors... would love to go to Colorado with him...

i know it sounds funny... but i would like to take them each separately so it can be all about them... and someday do a northeast excursion with my husband.
