Yeah.. i just finished working vacation bible school for the second year at prestonwood baptist church in plano, texas (check out the site ... its unbelieveable) .. www.prestonwood.com ... and i feel so rewarded. my kids got to go and i worked a room with 41 3-4 yr olds. have to give it to them (i most likely did it here b4) the baptists have it down when it comes to youth. it ROCKED ! i am so tired but cant get enough of talking about these kids ! i HIGHLY recommend doing it, even if your kids are grown or not there yet, it will change you and remind you how the wonder of God and His love is so beautiful and FUN .... i am so proud of my self (not in a selfish way) but so glad i was ALLOWED this chance to almost kill myself over the worlds busiest week and love these kids. people, there were over 4000 kids registered this year ! it was a zoo .. and ill do it again every year, so most parents just drop the kids off and get rest, i love it. go baptists ! haha.

Sounds like you had fun! I used to work with the 6-8 year olds in Sunday school/kid's church - a LOT of fun

The trick I found to rule the roost is to find out the ring-leader of the brat pack and have them sit right next to you (we usually sat on the floor) and not in the back where they want to sit and cause trouble Then you can give them the attention they're usually craving (and the usual reason why they cause disruptions), but in a good way.

Highly recommended for adult males - a lot of these kids don't have father figures in the home and it's good to see adult males in a positive light, hugging them and sharing Jesus' love with them.

VBS is the best! I had 4 and 5's (Just kidding) They were amazing because they are so innocent and they love the Lord and they love each other and they want to hear stories about Jesus and get right in on the singing and dancing and praising. Rachel is actually at youth Sunday today. The church has all kinds of music and skits and interpretive dance all done by the teens. They even had two Christian rappers that knocked the church body's socks off. Gotta reach them on their level. Rachel sang her heart out.
