I love when my kids get to go away for a few days, it gives us all a break from each other. I love it more when they get back.

I'm with u there....my two are gone until next Wednesday...and I decided to take the time off work too..had a couple trips planned but changed my mind at the last minute too lazy to drive...so spending my days..swimming, reading, sleeping...the life...and then it's back to being busy mom...

Up until today I kept considering scenarios that would get me to move to Florida when my son began college. I felt that at that time I would just move and when Mike (and Rachel) had breaks and vacations they would just come to me where ever I was.

Today Mike's dad called to tell him about a college that close to his house and offered Mike to live with him if he chose to go there...

That just wasn't part of MY plan...

Yeah...well, we had to choose 4 schools to send SAT's to... So his dad wanted at least 2 NC schools. The other NC school we chose was originally UNC at Chapel Hill because of the close proximity to his dad... well, that was quickly shot down when we found that they accept like 34% of their applicants. So now the other school is UNC at Pembroke. "Slightly" less rigid...

He's looking into Sports Management with some type of Communications minor in there. He wants to work for ESPN.

I have a huge OCD problem. I went to the store yesterday to buy this season's poinsettias.

When I got there, there were SO MANY plants that already I was overwhelmed. There were small ones and tall ones and bushy ones and baby ones. They were red and white and pink and salmon colored. They were flat leafed or curly leafed. They had some with sparkles on the greenery and some dyed bright colors.

I pawed at each of them. I picked them up and turned them around. I held them close and far away. I looked for dead and dying leaves and looked for perfect shapes.

I left the store all stressed and poinsettia-less.

hehe on the flowers, I do that when shopping too - if the salesperson hits me wrong I just put everything down and walk out... if I walk around the store long enough, I don't usually buy anything. I got to get in and get out

He would LOVE that. ESPN headquarters is about 30 minutes from us. Not sure which path he'll follow. At the moment I'm struggling to keep his head in the game he's playing. He's got this attitude now that since he's already accepted into college he's on cruise control. I keep having to remind him that he actually has to graduate to get into that college... UGH!

My daughter decided that she wanted to "dress up" her image as far as clothing goes. To me I thought she meant she wanted a little more professional looking clothes instead of the typical college garb. Well, of course I was wrong, so I had the fun of returning the majority of the things that I bought for her while she rode the rides at Six Flags in San Antonio.

As repayment for my pain and suffering, she got nothing new and I got a new pair of cashmere mittens. I forgot about how much warmer mittens are than gloves and now I will wear them everywhere
