A: we are preparing for family to come in. and anyone else who needs to. going to go to sams and stock up. 12 extras are tough to feed i would think. we are still fighting off bronchitis and some tummy bug with the kids. not much fun really.

A) The correct answer is no, but once my worry wart starts up it feels like it...it feels like the longest day in history...

A:no, it will maybe throw some rain that way, and some much needed winds to drop the gunk out of the sky, but dont worry.

A: no way!!!! the summer was hot and over 100 too many days and it was long and the winter was weak. what are you talking about ???

A: When they get bad marks...

A) Um, I'm going to assume that you had a bad experience with a guy? I've had plenty of bad experiences with women where I think they all think they can get away with murder and why bother with any of 'em. But, end of the day, I drop the ones I don't like and keep moving.

Q: How many saw that one coming?

A: okay, you so totally stole that from sarah palin, but that's okay. embie, i dont know what to tell ya. they dont change. they have their strengths and weaknesses and beleive it or not, there are decent ones out there, but dont think they will have consecutive, "normal" days. they don't. just avoid them. and say a prayer. know when guys are worth the trouble ? when they are little, like age under 5!

A: David and I watched most of the game - looks like I'll finally have someone to watch games with

Q: Where were you at 8am 9/11/2001?

A: i was working at the julie and ben rogers cancer institute. we heard something on the radio and then saw the patients downstairs watching the news. then the patients moved to the other side of the waiting area, the one without the tv. it was a lot to hear as most of them were there for chemo or radiation.

Q: where were you ?

A: I didn't know you worked there. My mom just retired from there a month or 2 ago. I was working for my dad at the time, was leaving for work when the news started coming in.

Q: Where were you?

A) I was at work about an hour from where it was all happening. We had just come out of our morning break where we would get together and pray. people had begun milling in the hallways around the cafe to watch the TV monitors. We watched the 2nd plane hit. It was all so surreal. I remember in the weeks following there were armored vehicles lining our highways and while they were so large and invasive, they somehow made me feel more safe and a little bit comforted. I think that the annual memorial is wonderful, but I think replaying the footage of the events of that day should stop now. It brings everything back to reality and all the people who lost loved ones have to relive the tragedy. They need to heal now.

Q) Where were you?

A: Leaving for work I think playing the footage of the day is a good thing - people have a short memory and the nutbags get to re-write the events of the day if we take time to remember what really happened.

Q: What's been happening the last week? I feel like I dropped off the face of the earth - what happened in the stock market and why are we bailing out so many stupid greedy rich people?

A: don't ask me, ask someone who has some money, ... anyone anyone ???

Q: tell me ... what are the simpler things in life you have learned you CANNOT live without, if you had the choice?

A: Always people - family and friends in that order. We saved the things we couldn't replace like photos, but everything else is replaceable except family and friends. Melanie has done remarkably well the last few weeks during a pregnancy and 2 evacuations.

Q: Anyone else here felt the brunt of the last couple weeks? I think even the yankees got a lot of rain from the hurricanes

A: I heard Cincinatti had power knocked out from Ike too (so much for moving away from the coast ).

Q: What's your favorite fall festival?

A: the rice festival down there on the coast of texas. they have boudain balls, deep fried, aligator on a stick. pork a bobs that melt in your mouth, and the best of them all ... pistolettes, this goo filled seafood biscuit that will put about 10 pounds on you just thinking about it! nothing like it! (plus i know they people who run it so i get free beer) .... the parade they have the rice queen and she rides on a giant combine. it rocks! this year it is cancelled cause of ike. but it is simply the best.
