I am pretty certain that Barack Obama will be the next president.

Studies of voter behavior show that most registered voters that are likely to vote, make up their minds approximately six months prior to election day. Now that we know Barack is the DNC candidate and he's leading in most polls by 7-10% I think you can take it to the bank that he'll win.

Which in a way is a good thing... you see, he'll be a disaster the likes of which we haven't seen since Carter. He's a knee-jerk taxing Democrat that believes taxes are the solution to all of our problems. All of which will set the stage for a Mitt Romney win in 2012.

It was mentioned here that Obama did a background check on Sen. Chris Dodd, implying he was a possibility for VP... help

The most recent poll shows McCain 5 points ahead...

Obama picks Biden:

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/08/23/obama-picks-joe-biden-for-veep/

Isn't he one of the most cranky people you've ever seen on TV? He makes Cheney look angelic from what I remember of his tv appearances.

I can't bring myself to watch any of the festivities, preferring to catch the cliff notes edition later.

I see Joel's man is back in the spotlight - you think McCain is announcing him tomorrow?

hehe, not Romney, but on the surface not a bad choice - she's pro-life and a fiscal conservative - 2 characteristics that will help McCain with the core of the party. The next few months will definitely be interesting in how this plays out. If you tend to vote repub/conservative, you gotta think your team made a much better choice for VP than the dems did.

yeah, I'm happy. I think it's better for Mitt in 2012 to not be a part of a ticket that loses.

I'm not saying McCain will lose, But if he did, it's better not to have been a part of a losing ticket.

As for Palin or whatever, it's cool fro the Republicans to be able to pick a self-made success story as a running mate. gives us some street cred.

It's funny the biggest complaint I've seen so far from the dems is that she's inexperienced 'on the national stage' - that comes from people who's messiah has no experience and no accomplishments. Palin is a mile deep to Obama's paperthin resume`.

I was thinking this this morning - if you've read John Grisham's latest book "The Appeal", you'll recognize Obama's rise to the top. In the book a chemical company has... well, let me post their cliff note:

Quote:

In a crowded courtroom in Mississippi, a jury returns a shocking verdict against a chemical company accused of dumping toxic waste into a small town’s water supply, causing the worst “cancer cluster” in history. The company appeals to the Mississippi Supreme Court, whose nine justices will one day either approve the verdict or reverse it.

Who are the nine? How will they vote? Can one be replaced before the case is ultimately decided?

The chemical company is owned by a Wall Street predator named Carl Trudeau, and Mr. Trudeau is convinced the Court is not friendly enough. With judicial elections looming, he decides to try to purchase himself a seat on the Court. The cost is a few million dollars, a drop in the bucket for a billionaire like Mr. Trudeau. Through an intricate web of conspiracy and deceit, his political operatives recruit a young, unsuspecting candidate. They finance him, manipulate him, market him, and mold him into a potential Supreme Court justice. Their Supreme Court justice.

The Appeal is a powerful, timely, and shocking story of political and legal intrigue, a story that will leave readers unable to think about our electoral process or judicial system in quite the same way ever again.

The attorney is nice enough, looks good, etc. but has no experience or even aspirations to higher office. Using a billionaire's money, a few handlers groom him, run his campaign, have him say enough stuff that sounds good but has no basis in substance.

The guy and his campaign is the spitting image of Obama and his campaign - nice enough guy, but no real substance - could easily be a sweater model in a JC Penney catalogue if this president gig doesn't work out.

Does anyone know Dr. Jack Wheeler? I didn't but received this via e-mail.

What do you think?

Interesting......

Per snopes.com, this is true.

Dr. Jack Wheeler is a brilliant man who was the author of
Reagan's strategy to break the back of the Soviet Union
with the star wars race and expose their inner weakness. For
years he wrote a weekly intelligence update that was
extremely interesting and well structured and informed. He
consults(ed) with several mega corporations on global trends
and the future, etc. I think he is in semi-retirement now.
He is a true patriot with a no-nonsense approach to
everything. He is also a somewhat well known mountain
climber and adventurer.

Written by Dr. Jack Wheeler

The O-man, Barack Hussein Obama, is an eloquently tailored
empty suit. No resume, no accomplishments, no experience, no
original ideas, no understanding of how the economy works,
no understanding of how the world works, no balls, nothing
but abstract empty rhetoric devoid of real substance.

He has no real identity. He is half-white, which he
rejects. The rest of him is mostly Arab, which he hides but
is disclosed by his non-African Arabic surname and his
Arabic first and middle names as a way to triply proclaim
his Arabic parentage to people in Kenya . Only a small part
of him is African Black from his Luo grandmother, which he
pretends he is exclusively.

What he isn't, not a genetic drop of, is
'African-American,' the descendant of enslaved
Africans brought to America chained in slave ships. He
hasn't a single ancestor who was a slave. Instead, his
Arab ancestors were slave owners. Slave-trading was the main
Arab business in East Africa for centuries until the British
ended it.

Let that sink in: Obama is not the descendant of slaves, he
is the descendant of slave owners. Thus he makes the perfect
Liberal Messiah.

It's something Hillary doesn't understand - how
some complete neophyte came out of the blue and stole the
Dem nomination from her. Obamamania is beyond politics and
reason. It is a true religious cult, whose adherents reject
Christianity yet still believe in Original Sin, transferring
it from the evil of being human to the evil of being white.

Thus Obama has become the white liberals' Christ,
offering absolution from the Sin of Being White. There is no
reason or logic behind it, no faults or flaws of his can
diminish it, no arguments Hillary could make of any kind can
be effective against it. The absurdity of Hypocrisy Clothed
In Human Flesh being their Savior is all the more cause for
liberals to worship him: Credo quia absurdum, I believe it
because it is absurd.

Thank heavens that the voting majority of Americans remain
Christian and are in no desperate need of a phony savior.

His candidacy is ridiculous and should not be taken
seriously by any thinking American.

I may not agree with every Obama says, but painting him out to be some sort of anti-Christ heathen devil is wrong in my eyes.

And so what if he's part Arab? You really think that him being Arab has any sway on his views?

And what's this about him "stealing" the primary from Hilary? News flash, they voted for him, not Hilary obviously.

"He is the descendant of slave owners." That sentence is so ignorant I don't even know where to begin.

A bunch of racist crap right there.
