I do love the pizza and the calzones and the strombolis... chuckle

That the same Carmines as in Times Square? We've eaten there a few times - great food and atmosphere, tho a *little* touristy if you're local slurp Stop in before a show if you're going to Broadway. thumbsup

I think my palate would have been more discerning had I known I was eating >$220 fish - by the time we got the bill I was stuffed and the wine someone insisted on only made me laugh when I saw the >$600 bill for 4 eek

Man, carmine's better be kickin' with $29.00 bowls of gumbo. I say save the dough and go to jason's deli. they still have great gumbo IMHO.

is www.cafeannie.com in houston still as good as it was 20 yrs ago ?

The food is served family style at Carmines - an entree serves 2-3 people. Melanie and I would split the Chicken Marsala (THE best) and would have to work to finish it. Great place for dinner before a Broadway show. thumbsup

Not sure about CafeAnnie's - it's been 20 years since I've been smile I did drive by a few weeks back and there were quite a few cars there, so I'm guessing it's still doing well.

where do you find the best rated where you live ?? too many people write on things and too many places to eat. so far word of mouth has been best bet.

Word of mouth, tho channel 6 (CBS) gives us the health dept ratings each week (very helpful) - I think they're at www.setxeats.com or something like that. This week's report can be found here:
