Sometimes in life, we all get our share of "scars." These are events that come into our lives. These events might be different things such as an illness, job loss, or a break up. These situations will challenge us in many ways. We all deal with such challenges in different ways. During these trying times, there might be a temptation to question God's care. When the rough times occur, God has a way of reminding us of His love. He brings us through the rough times. He is able to restore us and to make us whole again. God is able to take our scars and turn them into stars. He is able to work all things together for good.
(Romans 8:28) What might seem like painful scars, can be turned into bright shining stars.
SCARS THAT COME INTO OUR LIVES. Each of us have had our share of scars. There is no promise that we won't have some pain to go through. This is apart of the journey. There are many people who are carrying scars around with them everyday. Whatever their scars might be, they cause bitter pain. Some have scars that come from illness, poverty, or personal setbacks. The pain of these scars are just too much for these people to endure.
Some scars heal with time, others do not. Are there scars in your life? Are there situations that you have found hard to endure? Have you wondered if there was ever going to be healing?
Through the pain and the suffering, some people where God is. They wonder if He is able to turn things around.
If there is no healing from the hurt and the pain, then feelings of hopelessness and defeat remain. We can allow the hurt and pain of the scars to make us feel hopeless. Instead, let us take hold of the hand of Jesus. He will raise us up. He will speak to us and give to us hope and healing. We can either just give up, or we can have faith and hold on. If we have faith and hold on, then we'll see that God is able to turn scars into stars.
GOD GIVES HEALING AND RENEWAL God gives healing for our scars. God first healed the scar left by sin. How did He do this? He did it through the cross of His dear Son. Through His suffering, we are healed. As the Prophet Isaiah wrote:
"By His stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5) Through His suffering, death, and resurrection, Jesus removed the scar and stain of sin. Through faith, we have the healing balm of forgiveness and comfort. Christ strengthens us as we bear the scars.
As God heals us, He reminds us that He works on our behalf. As we face the scars in our lives,we are reminded of God's care. Holy Scripture reminds us;
"We know that in all things God works for the good of them who love Him, and have been called according to His purpose."(Romans 8:28) God know what to do with our scars. He won't let them fester. He'll bless us and give us healing. He'll do something else, He'll turn our scars into stars. He will bring us through and strengthen our faith and hope.
Because God is able to bring healing through faith, we can bear witness. We can take the difficulties and let our faith shine through them. We can show and tell others about the God who both heals and restores. When we let God work in us, we can be lights that shine brightly like the stars.
If you have scars that are too great to bear; find your healing through faith in Christ. In Him, there is healing power that restores us. Through His Spirit, He strengthens you. Through faith in Him, you can endure and grow through the scars. Through the scars, you can let your faith and your gifts come forth. Through your witness, you can point others to the God who is able to turn scars into stars.
