Soooo... my daughter comes back from her vacation in TX with some great news. She's moving to San Antonio... slap

OK, so when I tell her... don't you think this is a little rash, impulsive, quick, and just a teeny weeny bit stupid...oh did I say that, I meant...irrational; her only retort is "Well mom, I AM 18." As if 18 has somehow now become the magic number after which all intelligent decisions are made... smash

*sigh* So I reminded her that while she is now that magical 18 and essentially almost the greater perfection number 19 (which then she will become genius), she is still financially dependent on moi...

Much to my surprise...(NOT) the river of tears began and flowed continuously with intermittent spurts of "you are so mean" and "how can you step all over my dreams", followed by two phone calls to my closest gf's who excitedly agreed WITH MY DAUGHTER smash and 1001 promises of a beautiful future with a life filled only with bliss.

How could I possibly deny her that? help

My work computer, at 8-9 years of age, is the oldest computer by maybe 5-6 years. It's been trying to die the last couple weeks. Today it succeeded smash

I did get to order another one, but it will be a few days before I get it. smirk

Yeah, well... I hadn't used it much in the last few years while working in hospice... I musta kilt it this summer/fall tongue

I had bumped up the ram to 1.5gb, added a new hard drive and upgraded it to winxp pro over the years to keep it moving, but the hard drive started corrupting and the ram just died this week. Re-doing the ram itself would have been ~$250-300 not counting the hard drive and it may have been something with the motherboard once we fixed that. After spending >$500 in time on it it was best to just get a new one. I'll be leaving soon and I don't want to have to keep coming back just to try to get the old one back on its feet.

SHE promised me $60.00 *sigh*

Pray for her tho, I think she got in over her head dealing in direct ships out of China and according to her profile she's a Christian. Sadly I'm not alone and since I bought my item there have been many, many, many negative comments in her feedback ratings. I didn't have the heart to post anything after that. frown

That thing must take up half a room. Do they still sell that "tractor paper?"

It's a HP laserjet4 - not the fastest now but a workhorse for sure smile It's smaller than the much faster dell printer we use elsewhere there.

I have a printer that has been hooked up since we moved yet I do not print on it. I can't find the cable and every time I think about printing I remember I still have to buy one. So instead of buying one, I print my pages out at the library. By now, I could have bought a dozen of them. slap rolleyes
