Looks like it's going to be Mitt in 2012.

I think he'll be pulling out today

Done deal. Wow.

I tell you a real suprise for the Dems would be a Huck-Condeleeza ticket. They could pick up a lot of votes of people who will vote on race or sex, plus the conservatives will get behind Huck faster than McCain.

Possibly, everyone I've started to take a liking to/second look at has promptly dropped out after saying "I'm going all the way" smash It's more and more looking like the Texas Primary March 6th is going to be a moot point, unless you are a Ron Paul fan smile

So far there's no reason for huckabee to drop out unless he's running short on cash and I haven't heard that one yet. Where the delegates for romney go now I guess is anyone's guess.

Technically he's only suspended his campaign. So in the event that McCain dropped out (not very likely) He'd still have his delegates.

McCain would have to have a heart attack or something (not likely, but at his age...) but by then Huckabee would have a few more delegates I imagine smile

It will be decided by the time it gets to Texas. The only thing left is choosing a running mate - any guesses?

Condi?

Michael Steele?

Romney?

Thompson?

Leiberman?

Giuliani?

Hmmmm,

That's a tricky one.

Condi may be too closely associated with Pres. Bush and those against his leadership might back away from all of it.

I like Joe L. and I believe that he has done a great job for our state, I think he'd be a good VP.

I just like Thompson, so on the off chance that the VP could become President, that would make me happy too.

Not sure about the rest. smile

Just when you thought you didn't have a conservative choice:

http://www.alankeyes.com/

Alan Keyes joined the race recently.

Er, I just found out Mr. Keyes was running laugh

Definitely a long shot, but at least there's someone I can vote for in the primary and feel like I am choosing the lesser of 2 evils. doh

He was in Beaumont this past Saturday, spoke in several places. Jerry and I caught up to him at one of the engagements:

Not likely, especially since he had no delegates smile But a good alternative if you really want to vote for a conservative in the primaries.

race42008.com is a very good site for tracking this stuff.

Now for some much-needed levity...

The year is 2016 and the United States has elected the first woman as well as the first Jewish president, Susan Goldfarb. She calls up her mother a few weeks after election day and says, 'So, Mom, I assume you will be coming to my inauguration?'

'I don't think so. It's a ten-hour drive, your father isn't as young as he used to be, and my arthritis is acting up again.'

'Don't worry about it, Mom, I'll send Air Force One to pick you up and take you home and a limousine will pick you up at your door.'

'I don't know. Everybody will be so fancy-schmantzy. What on earth would I wear?'

'Oh Mom' replies Susan, 'I'll make sure you have a wonderful gown custom-made by the best designer in New York.'

'Honey,' Mom complains, 'you know I can't eat those rich foods you and your friends like to eat.'

The President-to-be responds, 'Don't worry Mom. The entire affair is going to be handled by the best caterer in New York , kosher all the way. Mom, I really want you to come.'

So Mom reluctantly agrees and on January 20, 2017, Susan Goldfarb is being sworn in as President of the United States. In the front row sits the new president's mother, who leans over to a senator sitting next to her.

'You see that woman over there with her hand on the Torah, becoming President of the United States?'

The Senator whispers back, 'Yes I do.'

Mom says proudly, 'Her brother is a doctor.'

I am going to vote for Jerry cause he wore an "ayres" shirt to meet a candidate. Simply gotta love it!

No, truly,I, like Embie, an totally uneducated on this issue and will need to play serious catch up before Nov. but my gut comment so far is, Hilary scared the boogers out of me-something isn't quite right with a woman who is as stoic as she was when "everything went down" ... then blows up when at other times, like steve ... that's just scary.

I like Obama but i can't say his name 10 times really fast
