I don't listen to it alot , even though i like the words , alot of the time i find the musical aspect quite dull and boring , so could you recomend any Christian bands along the lines of Bands with guitar solos , long drawn out jams , loud singing, no synths , and no costumes! High energy, but not corny , sanks alot.

Well I found something to reply to. (ending with a prep) I liked Petra, John Schlit, Phil Keaggy, Steve Camp, Mylon LeFevre, and REO. I also like classical with a pref on strings. By the way - REO isnt Christain but they are pretty rightious!

We had a short story about Robert Robinson, the writer of "Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing" yesterday at church and a pretty cool message about the "ebenezers" in our lives. After writing this hymn Robinson strayed away from God and was lost for a season. God's grace drew him back but it was almost prophetic, the lyrics he wrote.
From there we sang a contemporary version of the hymn. It was so powerful. Of course I was a weeping mess, but how could you not be. "Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, Prone to leave the God I love" *sigh*
Aren't we so restless? I know I am. I just want to go Home... "Come, my Lord, no longer tarry, Take my ransomed soul away; Send thine angels now to carry, Me to realms of endless day."
Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing
Come, Thou Fount of every blessing, Tune my heart to sing Thy grace; Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, Sung by flaming tongues above. Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it, Mount of Thy redeeming love.
Sorrowing I shall be in spirit, Till released from flesh and sin, Yet from what I do inherit, Here Thy praises I’ll begin; Here I raise my Ebenezer; Here by Thy great help I’ve come; And I hope, by Thy good pleasure, Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger, Wandering from the fold of God; He, to rescue me from danger, Interposed His precious blood; How His kindness yet pursues me Mortal tongue can never tell, Clothed in flesh, till death shall loose me I cannot proclaim it well.
O to grace how great a debtor Daily I’m constrained to be! Let Thy goodness, like a fetter, Bind my wandering heart to Thee. Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, Prone to leave the God I love; Here’s my heart, O take and seal it, Seal it for Thy courts above.
O that day when freed from sinning, I shall see Thy lovely face; Clothed then in blood washed linen How I’ll sing Thy sovereign grace; Come, my Lord, no longer tarry, Take my ransomed soul away; Send thine angels now to carry Me to realms of endless day.

For those with sound on their computers I've added a little widget to the right panel to play music. I don't get to listen to Christian music much lately and I really think I notice it in my spirit. If you have a favorite band or song you'd like added (that fits in a cafe-type setting (sorry, no gregorian chants)) let me know and I'll try to track down an mp3 to add.
