Yeah - Commodores (brick house) and Earth wind and fire September were a couple of my first "ALBUMS" - vinyl baby. That song has horn arrangement and chord progression and even alot of backing harmonies that are identical to "september".

My first concert EVER was EWF. loved em.

Not sure when bandstand re-runs play, I'm pretty sure I'd prefer Soul Train tho, I used to watch it when it came out and wasn't a re-run

My first concert was The Doobie Brothers (with Michael McDonald), followed soon after by Maynard Ferguson and the Tower of Power - still the loudest concert I've ever been to I grew up not far from our fairground amphitheater - The O-Jays, The Commodores, to name a few, could be heard just by stepping outside My first albums were EWF and The Commodores with Lionel Richie.

2nd concert was in fact commodores... then styx and Yes.
Loved the music of the brothers. Band i played in for a long time was a 10 piece cover band. EWF< COMMODORES< TOP, Average awhite Band, Spyro Gyra, Blood Sweat and Tears, Joe COcker...great music in that era.
