I am reading what has to be one of the most interesting books I have ever read. it is a tad difficult to work through and with two trying to get to sleep at the same time, alost impossible.
it is called "House of Leaves" by Mark Z. Danielewski

Not heard of that one Angel. What's it about? I've had my nose in text books for the last couple months, so not much time for my own reading. I do attempt it, but I can't keep my eyes open.

well i had heard of it too embie, and happened to walk by and see it on a table (i cant seem to get thru barnes and nobles without an armful, that is my addiciton .. books) and so i picked it up, read the flap and then thumbed thru it. it is a sea of footnotes and it is really two stories simulatnouesly going on at the same time. i am not sure what it is about, except there is so much to it. the "jest" of it is it is about a family who moves into a small country home from teh city and they experience the house getting bigger from the inside but not the outside! it is about much more than that and it is a "meaty" text but really fun read.
the left behind series ? i might actually own some of those. i read tons of peretti and then got into a couple of other popular christian writers, but none as good as peretti.
anyone else ?

I just finished "The Historiah" by someone - the name escapes me just now. It's a new book and pretty scary, so if you like being scared a little bit it's worth a read.

I've been reading a lot of "end of days" kind of books. Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank 1984 by George Orwell Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury Oh... and the Second Summer of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

Haha. Me either.
And all of those were required books for me in high school.
But I'm rereading them... and I'm truly amazed at how my perspective has changed since I last read it (I jot in the margins). My thinking from 14 to 19 has really changed. =/

I haven't read it but I have heard about it. It might be a good book.......
Right now I am reading "Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World". Ladies, I would highly suggest this one. It is very good and really speaks to you.

Isn't Kim Catrall the sleaziest of the four sleazy women on sex and the city?

I am currently reading "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne. Its okay. But, as a Christian that has already read "Your Best Life Now" by Joel Olsteen.....it just seems to be the same concept. It is dealing with "the law of attraction". Which, to me, is very closely related to what Joel was relaying as "God's Favor". I can wrap my brain around the whole positive thinking idea. I like that. I don't like dwelling on the negative, although, I believe that it is easy to jump on the pessimistic bandwagon.
I also have "The Secret" dvd and the meditation cd.
Has anyone else read it? Or, did you see the Oprah show that featured it (I didn't).
Care to weigh in?
Saphy
