ahhh, took only 10 days, 2 no-shows by the tech, 10-12 phone calls before the Time Warner/Road Runner tech came and fixed the net access. It's actually a better signal now I had to threaten to cancel my service on Monday if they didn't show up today before they decided they would get someone out this evening.

Now if only that ebay seller would actually send that part so I can use my own computer

I just re-installed (on a borrowed computer) MS Money and Turbotax and got our finances and taxes just about done - quite a bit behind since my notebook has been down about a month now

We received Rachel's financial aid package today. They granted her an additional $8100 for the year. Thank You, thank You, Jesus.

weather was nice today, is supposed to be for the next few days

The last few days of spring before the stifling heat and humidity of summer descends like a wet towel

The mass exodus is beginning at my work and we have been taking folks out to lunch before their last day. On Sunday we went to this little place I had never been to called Shady Glen. OMGosh it was sooo cool.

It was like a fifty's fountain shoppe. Most of the place was just counter and stools. They mixed your sodas with syrup and seltzer, no soda machines. Everything was home made, nothing frozen. They are famous for their cheeseburgers. They grill them in a way that the cheeses curls up off the grill and your burger has four wings. The cheese has to be tucked up under your bun before you eat it. There are no bottles of condiments on the table, they pass around a relish tray. You get only a couple of minutes to fix your sandwich before they whisk it away to the next family. At times the line was out the door. We were too full for dessert, but they claim their ice cream is to die for... Next time

We had to move 'David's tree' - we moved it to the back of the yard between a couple red oaks we planted a year or 2 ago - hopefully tomorrow we're gonna get ~5 live oaks and plant them along the side street - we're on the edge of the 'oaks historic district' - there's lots of oak trees lining the streets with branches all the way across to the other side. Our house needs to catch up - besides, it will just look good and be good for the environment - then maybe gore can turn on a few more lights at his house

We bought a winter home in St. Pete. My folks will winter there beginning this year and eventually I will move there year round. It's a manufactured home in a relatively small community. We were planning on purchasing a brand new home that we looked at for $126k but just by "chance" I found this community on-line and sent my sister-in-law to check it out. Well, as "luck" would have it, there was a 3BR 2BA completely redone home for sale. It is semi-furnished and along with the furnishings comes all the appliances, a large screen TV and entertainment center, 3 mounted flat screen TV's in the Br's, a brand new washer and dryer and a brand new BBQ. It is waterfront lot a stone's throw from the clubhouse and pool. We paid $49k.

I know chance and luck had nothing to do with it. God is Good! \0/
