Melanie's grandmother is in the hospital. She's been battling cancer of one form or another about 3 years now and they found out Saturday it's back. Today we made the decision for hospice - the physician thinks she has maybe a couple weeks left.

She'll be leaving behind a husband of ~60 years who's in poor health himself. Please pray for comfort, rest and peace in knowing she's going to be ok. Pray that things will go smoothly, that Paw will be able to spend these last days with her in good health and the family will feel at peace with how things are going.

Melanie is spending the night at the hospital with her tonight, please pray for rest for them both and strength tomorrow.

How'r they doing?

Looks like she's going to pass in the next 24 hours - much faster than expected but she hasn't suffered in pain at all, thank you Jesus. Please be with the family at this time and the coming holidays.

Yeah, my mom's dad died on Dec. 23rd three days after my 9th birthday, and my mom's mom died 5 or 6 years ago around Dec. 12th. Many years ago, my mom's grandparents died on Christmas Day 10 years apart. This is a TOUGH month for my mom...my dad's birthday is also on Dec 8th, and I expect my mom to outlast him in his current health, so...

I'll be praying for them. I know how tough holiday losses can be firsthand.

My mom's mom passed on Dec 22, 1992 - makes for a rough time during the holidays for a while until we begin to remember the good times more than the sadness.

Melanie's grandmother passed peacefully this morning about 2 - please remember her husband and the rest of her family in your prayers.

yes, me as well, brother died on THanksgiving day 26 years ago(i was 15) still tough sometimes.

Can you imagine his wife's happiness to see him Thursday night? He laid down, had Todd adjust his pillow a dozen ways for 15 minutes, then passed peacefully sometime in the next hour or so.

It's been real sad for the family still left. Melanie's mom and uncle lost both parents in just a few weeks, a lot to adjust to around the holidays.

Right?

And what better place to be in than in the presence of Jesus? It's our pain we mourn over, not the believers.
