Hmmm...when you use that word "gussied" I picture... eek never mind. Strannnnnge. I know it means "dressed up" sorta, maybe a little beyond that, but I've always hated that word.

Okay, my night of peace is about to come to a close...and I will be thankful for this:

I didn't do anything that I'll hate myself for in the morning. laugh

Got my car back. Needed a new air filter and the fuel injection was a little messed up. Got it all taken care of, and now it's drivin like smooth as ever. *sigh of relief*

Mom and I were talking about dividing up Grandma's personal effects (sp?) and she asked me if I wanted to move into my grandmother's house... God has a strange way of doing things... frown I can't not be thankful and so relieved that I don't know how to act, but this is so much at one time...Grandma and I were very close...

just found out that doc is going to pay me for all the time i missed due to my grandmother's death...that would be all day yesterday, this afternoon for the viewing, and from 11am tomorrow until the end of the day...thank GOD!!! I wasn't sure what I was going to do...

And my mom talked it over with her brothers. They have no objections to me staying at her house...

baaahhh... smelly girls tongue

When I got home last night, a kid's bike was in my back yard, and from past experience, that meant a kid was breaking into my house while I was gone... I backed up and shined my headlights on the house, got out my thermo-nuclear flashlight and went around the house, finding no-one. Went in the house and found no-one... the bike was still there this am. Looks like santa brought me a bike early this year laugh

It seems like everything is hitting me at once here in the past couple weeks (again). Loosing a loved one, realizing that humans are fallible, and now I have strep. *GRRR!* That's the only setback of working for a doctor...I'm surrounded by sickos.

Through all of this stuff that's happening, satan has been trying to mess with my head, and doing a pretty good job of it. But I have something to be thankful for that I just saw this morning...

I'm soooo onto him.

Yeah, I'm sick as I can be, hacking up my lungs, but -- I know exactly what's wrong with me, how I got it, how long I should have it, and I'm in pretty good hands...free samples are the bomb! laugh

Yes, I'm missing my cousin's graduation (which I feel pretty awful about because he was sooooo unusually sweet at the funeral that I was really looking forward to being there and cheering him on)...he's going to be a football/baseball/basketball coach at the school that we graduated from! (How exciting!) So, I'm missing that, but -- I have the entire house to myself so that I can get plenty of rest.

Yes, I lost my grandmother and I will miss her terribly, but -- she's not hacking up her lungs every day...she's at peace. And I allready met my goal for the new year before it started. A fully furnished apartment with no rent and utilities paid. I will donate a fixed amount every month based on my salary and my only job duties are to pick up after myself and open the gates every eveninig. Thank you, Grandma. Even after you're gone, you still bless me. I didn't realize how much I was going to miss you...but you're in a much nicer apartment now than the one you left behind. laugh

School is out and the parties are over. Fixins for Christmas dinner are bought. Tomorrow my daughter and I go to NYC for an overnight. I got to talk with another Christian today about a preacher's "vision" of heaven. (THAT was spectacular!) My kids are settled in for the night and my doggie is snoring on my bed.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh smile

sounds like you had a great weekend...

I have some relatives in town this weekend that I haven't seen in a while... I have really missed them more than I knew. A friend or 2 as well I haven't seen in a while. Relationships are a huge part of Christmas.

So very true Allen. I changed my mind at the last minute and went to a Christmas Eve dinner. I usually like to stay home and finish the little loose ends before the big day, but I am glad that I went. I saw friends and distant family that I only get to see once in a blue moon. We laughed about the past and oh the memories... smash

It was really good for my soul. smile
