Hi everyone one! I just wanted to announce that I have a new website where I have put online Bible studies that I have compiled. My wonderful husband designed the site. And if it's okay to brag, I think he did a wonderful job. Check it out and see what you think. Right now I only have 4 studies on it, but as I complete more then they will be posted. Just go to www.biblestudies4free.com.I wanted to do this site because I know so many people whose schedules are so busy they really don't have time to compile studies on their own. I just pray that God will lead who ever He wills to it.

Interesting site. I would suggest changing the line about the KJV being the most accurate from the Greek and Hebrew text. I would also offer to the reader that wants to apprehend and comprehend the book of Revelation, purchase Dwight Pentecost- "Things to Come" and Charles Ryrie "Dispensational Theology". A "Scofield" KJV bible along with the Ryrie Study Bible would be excellent choices for your text.
Just my 1$ worth.

You have to be critical with the Greek (I believe more than the Hebrew) What Greek text are our english text taken from. I dont want to get into a Greek lesson but one should be careful about the greek text their english text is made from. They are not all the same. Consider what a poor text could do to your doctrine. Ex..suppose that text didnt place importance on the deity of Christ.

Steve, Thanks. We are aware of that little glitch. There are a couple of things that he still has to do to fine tune it.

I am currently researching different Greek & Hebrew translations to purchase. I want to get these before I get into any deeper theological studies. Most of my research specifcally came from Dake's, Thompson Chain and NIV Texts. The Greek words I quoted I derived from my Strong's Concordance And Vines Expository Dictionary which coincides with the KJV. Right now I'm going to be concentrating on basic Christian living studies. I appreciate everyone's advice.

You may want to look at or consider investigating on your own, the text the kjv is taken from. investigate, Ctictical text; Textus Receptus or received text/majority text. These are the two most common. I use an interlinear from the received text and compare it to the Wescott and Hort text. I like scofield for the notes and dispensational position. Ryrie because he's from DTS and extremely intellegent.
By the way. If you want to teach yourself, which can be done. a good textbook for this is: The New Testament Greek for Beginners. J. Gresham Machen and Dan G McCartney.
I certaily am not about to say this to start any problems. I think your site will be a good resource for people. I would urge a bit more investigating before getting into eschatological studies.

Can probably do Bible studies without significant digging into original Greek and Hebrew texts, reserving the digging for those who really want to dig I like digging that deep but really have to be in the mood to concentrate that much. We have a Sunday school class going verse by verse doing that. Most are more general in nature

Right now the studies that I am going to be concentrating on are going to be the basics. I'm really surprised at the amount of believers who are naive about Christian living, who through lack of knowledge and good teaching live their lives without any conviction. And again I will specify that I am not the perfect example of what Christian living should be, just read my testimony page. But the key is a repentive heart that seeks God's forgiveness and desires to overcome those things in life that cause us to stumble.
There are so many out there that think saying the sinner's prayer is all they have to do and they can go on living life the way they always have. I understand that when someone is first led to the Lord, they should not be handed a bunch of do's and don'ts, but when I see new Christians going on with life with no shepharding and not being encouraged to read the Word of God it breaks my heart. I feel this is one area that the Church has failed, meaning we are very poor with following up with those we lead to Christ.
I pray that God will lead those to my sight that are hungry to learn more about living the Life of Christ. I am looking forward to posting new studies and seeing what God does. I will eventually have a response page once my husband is free enough to continue working on the site.

It sounds like a deep digging into greek and hebrew would be over the head a lot of the people that will benefit from your site. Maybe you could add some as your site grows.

Actually what I wanted to do was to impress the responsibility for "getting it right" when writing study material for others to follow. Taking up that task is an awesome respondibility. Just as stated in the post earlier, many if not most are obtuse where scripture or doctrine are concerned. There is no problem with a study being made just from the JKV text alone w/o any ref. material, save scofields notes. I certainly wasnt trying to put the author on edge or on-guard. Even as a youngster I found word study interesting and today, fascinating. Word usage, grammer and structure can ad a lot to a study. The avg. individual wont do it, (my meaning was to impress that) sometimes its good to do it for them.
Keep goin'

Don't worry I am neither on edge or on guard. Like I said in my last post my next few studies are going to be more on Christian living and the basics than anything else. Even though this may be the last days or it may not be, people still need the basics of living for Christ. If you are not sound in the basics one can not possibly survive spiritually in the last days. Right now this is the goal of my website, showing that part of a personal relationship with Christ is knowing the Word and living your life accordingly.
