I haven't looked into it; myself I really don't have an opinion one way or the other.
One thing I've tried to be careful with over the years is guard my mind from things that aren't positive - I don't read horror books, watch horror movies, listen to music not uplifting, etc. It's not that I'm afraid of whatever, it's that there's only so much time in a day and why not choose to input positive things. There's scripture about this, let me find it.
Here it is, I think it speaks to what I was talking about:
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you." -
Phillipians 4:4-9I don't know much about "the secret" but mostly judge it by the people pushing it nationally - the people I see that make a big deal about it on that level I don't care much for their judgement in other areas. People might think it's a little pretentious on my part, but it's just one of those things that seems real marginal to me so why invest the time? I'm glad it seems to work for you tho... I may need to investigate it more just to have that answer 'in and out of season'
