First tired newspaper...but I didn't tear it up. I heard that Heloise said that ripping it did something. I may have to resort back to that. I have gone thru nearly a whole back of charcoal....and currently have coffee in there. Next I guess I will try the vanilla and I need to put some baking soda in there (anyway). Fridge is much, much better....but freezer is UGH!....thanks for all the hints....hopefully, I will conquer the yucky smell.
