Had a great weekend with friends in New Orleans - ate some great Cajun food, walked a few miles - great to be back home

If you ate cajun food and could still walk after, you did not eat enough!!! LOL

mmmmmmmmmmmmm Jambalaya.

The Jambalaya at Pat O'brien's was pretty good, tho the pecan pie with freshly whipped creme was better

We ate at lots of places... there was a neighborhood diner in the garden district called camille's or something - kinda like an upscale waffle house - excellent shakes and cheeseburgers. We ate at one of emeril's restaurants - nola (we weren't dressed well enough to get into his other restaurant ). The food was *excellent* tho, I had:

Buttermilk Fried Breast of Chicken with Bourbon Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Smithfield Ham Cream Gravy and Sautéed Sugar Snap Peas

yum! yum!

Melanie had:

"Shrimp & Grits" Sautéed Gulf Shrimp, Grilled Green Onions, Smoked Cheddar Grits, Apple Smoked Bacon, Crimini Mushrooms, Creole Tomato Glaze and Red Chili-Abita Butter Sauce



We had chocolate bourbon pecan pie with sweet potato ice cream and Drew and Amy had something equally tastey.

David had a bottle mid-way through dinner and kept the waiters/ maitre-d and manager entertained

Cafe-au-lait and beignets at cafe du monde, and po-boys at the french market cafe - we could *barely* walk away from nola

New Orleans is an ok place to visit, the food is amazing and the historic garden district beautiful, but unless you are into bars and drinking, there really isn't much else to go there for. We probaby won't be back for another 10 years

I can see where David gets his 'healthy' appetite

"BOSTON (Reuters) - Many Americans will be wagering on this week's baseball World Series. For Taco Bell, the stakes are a free taco for everyone in the United States.

The fast-food chain on Monday unveiled a promotion it is calling "Steal a Base, Steal a Taco," which will run through the best-of-seven matchup.

"Millions and millions of people will be watching the Series and hopefully tuning in to see when they are going to get their taco," said Taco Bell spokesman Rob Poetsch."

They got a stolen base tonight, anyone up for heartburn tomorrow?
