In a year when even Rice University gets to play in one of the plethora of new bowl games popping up like Orville Reddenbocker's best (Hook'em Horns!), there are few and far between examples of old-school gridiron magic.
The Rose, Cotton, Sugar and even Orange are some in that league, but they all take a backseat to
SaladBowl XXVIII
This Monday afternoon, January 1st, 2007, at 1:00pm, we'll be kicking off and bringing home the bacon in 2-3 glorious hours on the gridiron. The gridiron is next to Southside Assembly of God church, in the south end of Beaumont off Cardinal Drive, take the Highland Ave. exit coming from either direction on Cardinal Drive.

Since I am another year older (I think Morton Anderson is the only other person who's still playing at the top of his game after all these years), I predict we'll only win by 21 points this time. Forever's husband and TiredDad will be on the winning team as well

Playas, bring your best game, watchers, bring your lawn chairs, cameras and bandages for the playas. Guys and girls are both welcome to play

For those still walking upright after the game, we're going to have an exclusive showing of "Talledega Nights" at the home of our newest football star - David, followed by fireworks in a (mostly) legal place somewhere around town.
