I filled up when it was $2.55.

Gas is now $3.30. Back home, it's closer to $5.

help

It's times like these when driving a minivan really sucks. It'll cost about $65-$70 to fill mine up. No more trips to the grocery store whenever I want.

*sigh*

It'll go back down. Right now, there are cities over in that area where it is $6.00 an hour, and you can only put $10.00 worth of gas in each vehicle. That's less than 2 gal per fill up. There are people stranded on the side of the road who can't get any more gas...it's crazy. We have some friends at church who's family was in that predicament...

I read some headline on MSN yesterday that said "Hurricane Katrina will only have a small effect on our economy..." Who the heck are they trying to lie to??

i am greatful i have a car and that what my husband drives, even though it costs 30 to fill it, gets 40 mpg. it isnt what is the "cool" thing to drive, but it is a God-send now.

I heard there is no shortage, but it is like a "run on a bank" kinda thing and everyone is freaking out too soon.

Surprisingly it's only $3.09 in CT so far. Our state is considering dropping the state tax till everything gets back to normal...whatever that is... rolleyes

well, believe it or not, it can get a lot worse. here it went back down under 3 a gal. i dont expect it will stay high, but i say let bush pay attention to the things going on down south right now and get around to the other mess later like gas, i am sure there is a fully (ahhemm) "fucntional"team working on it somewhere in washington. wink

It's >$6.00 per gallon in Europe and has been for several years - high octane is closer to $7/gallon. Smart cars are all over there - coming to the US in summer 2006. Motorcycles, scooters, and bicycles are very popular as well.

Historically, gas prices are not any higher than they have been over the last 30 years when adjusted for inflation. Doesn't help at all, we saw lots of stations on the way in over $3 per gallon tonight smash

Try www.gasbuddy.com to watch for the lowest prices in your area.

Today I was filling up my tank and I thought to myself. "Hmm, $2.87 a gallon, not bad."

yeah, europe has had higher gas prices for a looong time and rations too on it. they limit you to how much you can get at a time. they encourage smart cars and public transportation, which we all have access to somehow. it will go down though, have no fear.

It's $2.30.9 for regular at Kroger's if you've spent as much money in the store as we tend to do smash $2.37 if you just have one of their cards smile Little pepe` uses premium, so it was $2.50.9 tonight to fill up hoppy
