I think I liked the way the writers took real life situations: relationships, loss, love, lonliness, failure and the need to matter in this world and tied them all together in the witty and sometimes hilarious interactions of the characters. I don't want to give anything away, but Jack Nicholson's facial expressions are priceless. Kathy Bates plays a free spirit and she has the only real profanity in the movie. There are a couple exchanges that were surprising, but for the most part I just giggled. There are some sentimental parts as well. Just an all around impressive film. Be sure to go
