A huge 4x4 Ford F-250 came over to pull us out and promptly got stuck.

He couldn't get the front wheels to lock into 4wd. A jeep ended up pulling us both out
Not an hour later we came upon a lady who ran out of gas in the middle of the intersection on Broadway in Galveston. She was trying to push the Ford truck (noticing a pattern here

) by herself. I jumped out to help while Mel followed us in her car. A huge elderly black lady and 2 elderly black men *ran* over to help us push it into the gas station across the street. Nice people and a bit surprising seeing people helping strangers like that.

Used to happen all the time, it's been a while - I don't remember seeing any of the young people watching offering to help
The truck owner thanked everyone profusely.
