Yeth FEMA gives those and water out during disaster recovery efforts. The food in most of them is actually pretty good considering how they have to be packaged. All are edible except the cheese omelet But even then there's other food with it that's pretty good. They're, by design, pretty high calorie - I think I've gained weight in all my suffering of the last few weeks

Ahhhhh, thank ya  Sounds like one of those diet plan meals that you have to reconstitute before eating, or are "soft-canned".  Only difference is they are low calorie and we get to suffer long term...

These are fully cooked - they come in a plastic 'envelope' you slide into another plastic envelope/bag that contains something that heats the food when you add water - after 5-10 min you can take it out, open the pouch and eat, but it can be blazing hot - have to watch the fingers

mmm hmmm... you don't HAVE to heat everything There's lots of different meals, a box will usually have ~14 meals and 7 different choices. Other boxes will have another 7 choices, most are pretty good, 1-2 are nasty, but even then there's always something else in the meal to eat that's ok
