Don't Forget to Vote and Voter's Guides Online

The last day to vote in the 2000 General Elections will be on Tuesday, November 3rd. Remember, not only is it important to vote for the next president, but it is also important to vote for your U.S. House and Senate members, as well as your state representatives. The Texas House and Senate are up for grabs for either major party. This will determine Texas' new districting lines for races of the U.S. House of Representatives, Texas Senate, Texas House and State Board of Education over the next ten years and numerous seats in the U.S. House and Texas House could change parties depending on which party has control.

ACTION:

Get out and vote on Tuesday, November 7th and make sure that those around you remember to vote as well. Take Free Market Voter's Guides to your Sunday school class and office to help others know where the candidates stand on the issues. Congress Stands Ground Against Clinton in Final Budget Deal

The U.S. House and Senate have stood their ground against President Clinton in the last budget deal of his administration. In past years, Congress has submitted to Clinton Administration increases in budget spending and programs. This time Congress is taking a different approach.


Eighth Circuit Rules Against C-SPAN in Gephardt Tape Battle

A political ad featuring Congressman Richard Gephardt promising the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, that if he became Speaker of the House he would help further the homosexual community's agenda, had been barred by C-SPAN because the ad had used material obtained from C-SPAN coverage. In response to an emergency appeal, the Eight Circuit Court of Appeals has just ruled in favor of the free speech rights of Bill Federer, Gephardt's opponent.
