starring: Steve Oedekerk, Tad Horino,

directed by: Steve Oedekerk

rated: PG-13

iq points: Lost 12

plot: A one-man show with Oedekerk as director, screenwriter, and star, Kung Pow! is a martial arts spoof that borrows footage from other martial arts films and combines it with new footage featuring Oedekerk as the kung fu hero.

O M G this was a bad movie.... one of the bottom 3 I've ever seen. I think I'd rather see that John-Travolta-Dianetics-sci-fi-badathon while someone pounded junior mints in my eyes with gopher numchuks before I'd see this one again. Please do not see it and let this one die a quick death at the box office...

Language/ sexual innuendo/ violence wasn't too bad, just enough to earn the pg-13 rating. The plot and dialogue is enough to not be able to recommend it to anyone... I can't believe forever suggested it tongue

Seriously...this was probably one of the worst movies I have seen. EVER. I laughed about 3 time through the whole movie, but they weren't laughs like "omg that was funny"...you know, healthy laughs. They were more like laughs that said "Omg I got JIPPED when I paid for this ticket...I am truely a sucker."

I think the purpose of this film must have been to prove that all you have to do is take an old movie, add new voices and a little bad language, wierd noises and some blood, and you can sucker the public into wasting an hour and 10 agonizing minutes of their time wondering why they wasted $6.25. I want my money back...and then I want my time back. If it weren't for the fact that I had good company I would have left 20 minutes into the movie (like half the theater did)...

I'm going to rant for a second...I just feel really cheated by last night's movie, and maybe it shouldn't bother me so much, but it does. It bothers me that they actually made a movie like that and expect people to go see it...but what bothers me worse is that people actually will go see it -- and they know that. They know it because our mental morality as a generation is flying out the window. We [as a whole] buy stupidity as hilarity. It's so stupid that it's funny, we think. So we pay the salaries of people in a multi billion dollar industry to sit around and smoke crack making the dumbest jokes possible, and video tape them, spoon feed them to us...and we don't spit it right back out in their faces. We spend our hard earned money on their low budget trash, and to them it's like taking candy from a baby.

True, the bizarre has some strange appeal...always has. I remember watching Benny Hill with my dad, and my mom getting upset about it...I remember the Carol Burnett show...all of which were bizarre and quite funny...But to me, this type of "comedy" is completely different than what we see now. Even Cheech and whats his name movies weren't this crappy (they were bad, tho...really really bad and I only found them funny the 3 times that I smoked dope in my life, which was the purpose, I guess...that should tell ya something)...Adam Sandler says a nasty word and it sells like hotcakes...and we laugh as we are spending the cash on it, and they laugh as they are pocketing the profits. Some freak comedian with a warped sense of humor puts new voices to old movies and bizarre jokes, some bad stuff, and makes it as dumb as possible...and we are snookered. I'm going to end this rant rather abruptly because I don't think this is worth more than two paragraphs...but I just wanted to speak my mind even tho it wont accomplish anything...

I do feel a little better now that I have it out of my system... *aaah...* laugh smash

I let it go...I'm not giving myself an ulcer or anything. lol. I just had to get that out of my system. hehehe. I hate bad movies. You know, the kind that make you think "hmmm, now that hour would have been spent more productively had I sat on the floor and banged my head against the wall repeatedly." tipsy It's almost worse than eating bad fish or something...

But I'm over it...told ya I just had to get that out of my system. tongue
