Embie, you're probly one of the only people that I know who could use that reason and I would believe it...then again you're prolly the only person who took notice of that comment anyway...go figure. Thanks for letting me know that you didn't take what I said the wrong way...I was just wanting to make double sure that I said what I meant...sometimes I say things in a way that people misinterpret...

Oh I have to vent about this!! There is a point at the end....... A coffee/lunch break with some coworkers a couple of years ago. Two of them were on a diet even if they didn't need to loose weight... One of them skips lunch so she can eat dinner with her b/f. I ask why and she says "I can't eat twice a day, that would be too much food!" She then told me I shouldn't eat a Danish pastry because if I kept up that habit, I would get really fat when I got old! The other one says "I was really good yesterday!" So we ask her what she did and she tells us she had a craving for a chocolate bar. She so wanted to go down to the store and buy one but she resisted and then she said she felt really good when the stored had closed (after a couple of hours) and she couldn't get any chocolate. I told her I would have bought two LOL YES I know that was kinda mean, but the way she tortured herself for one little chocolate bar... That scared me!!! That is how MANY women think EVERY DAY........... WHY????? So it started this thinking process, and this is what I came up with: If I want to eat a candy bar, then I will eat a candy bar - as long as I can say I am happy and I feel healthy it's all good. Society tells us to be a certain way = perfect, but what is that "society" that decides what is "perfect"??? Does it include yourself, your neighbor, mom, best friend, cute guy at the store? No it doesnt. Nobody has come up to me and said "I am Society and I urge you to be perfect: 5 inches taller, 20 pounds lighter, start using make up, get a breast implant, be successful at work while raising small children"... So I choose to ignore that rubbish. Skinny women in ads for clothes? She is ONE person, the photo was made to sell CLOTHES and most likely they had to RETOUCH the photo... so she isnt what "society" calls "perfect" either My point is, YOU should decide what you eat, how you look, how much time, if any, you want to spend on exercising - all this without even considering what "society" thinks. It is a CHOICE that YOU should make I choose to not use makeup, I wear my boots every day, I eat candy every week, I have taken a break from excercising (have played soccer and floorball for almost 20 years) because right now that is what makes me happy God didn't give me this body so I could torture it. In his eyes it is perfect the way it is and if I can see a little what He sees when he looks at me AND when he looks at others..... You are all beautiful and I want to give you a big HUG for being YOU!! True happiness comes from inside you and from God - and it is not FAKE like "society's" poor excuse for a good feeling. Bless you all aleina

okeedokee, here is the clarification of where i was coming from. (it may make things clearer) in high school, i weighed 97 pounds. that is really underweight for my height and bone struc/muscle amount. if i couldnt be the best, i was going to be the thinnest. i had an eating disorder. and i guess once you have had one, you always do. then i gained 10 pounds going into college, thoughts life was over, then someone (who knows who he is ... allen ...) inspired or used reverse psychology to get me into the gym. at which time, i took off like a rocket. i worked out 4 times a week if not every day. i lost then gained muscle, and did the whole serious diet thing. i went thru a lot of hard life times during this "era" and the gym was an amazing outlet. i was BUFF !! and healthy. but then i kept signing up all these guys i was dating to the gym and then broke up and when i would go there, it was becoming a club with the lights on ! i stopped going. dont really know why. no good reason. i started dating a guy again that would stay at home, eat, watch tv, play on comp., didnt like to leave the house. this has been so for several years. and for the record, i am not 10 pounds overweight, i am 22 pounds overwieght. so, it is more than a little petty thing. i fit into nothing, i feel like all i can wear is overalls and the scrubs i work in, and i am never making my face ! so, my issue with the wieght loss thing is a MENTAL one, and one i have within myself, not one that society places on me, because for some unknown reason, i am still getting hit on despite the fact that i find myself GROSS ! i want that good feeling that i had when i went into the gym with headphones on, did my cardio, work my two hours on the weights, did a ridiculous stomache workout, then finished with sauna or more cardio. my routine now is, get up, go to work, sit on my psyatic nerve all day, smoke at at least two breaks a day, eat a big lunch with mother, go home, smoke another two cigs, bathe then read and eat something late. total oppostie of where i was. i am more stable in life, more weight brings on less colds and less fatigue like michelle says, but this lack of self worth (lots had to do with the guy i was getting serious with) is just un called for.
so, that is kind of where i am with it all. and after being in pretty darn good shape (allen back me up here) .... (crickets chirping) oh well.... i was 130 lbs. 14 % body fat. now i am 140 lbs. untold % body fat. so it isnt just a little gripe, it is a self dissapointment that is starting to yes, michelle, become overwhelming and maybe obsessive. i just need a good reason to get back in there, and yes, i know it should be ME, but it isnt working out that way.
clearer everyone ??

Sorry for babbling, Jenn! Back on track It did feel good after I quit soccer/floorball because for the first time in 20 years my body could rest. I have lost a lot of muscles of course though.... But in a way I feel better now, although I do want to start exercising again sometime. It's just that, like you Jenn, I don't feel motivated. I don't like the gym, it's like you have to be in pretty good shape even before you start on one of their programs So maybe you can do some exercises at home and then in a couple of months you could start working with the personal trainer?? Or it might help if you have a friend who could do the program with you? It's tough to get back to exercising, esp after slacking off, because it's like realising I have to change. Not fun!! Sometimes I set my goals too high, so that the way to get there seems too difficult and I quit because I'm not getting anywhere... I did buy a home equipment set but I haven't tried it YET You have my support Jenn and I'll pray for strength for you; both physical and mental strenght aleina

I'm not sure if this will motivate you'all or not, but...yesterday, in between tissues, I turned on the tube and saw one of those daytime talk thingies...(man I do hate them... ) but this one really made me stop in my tracks... There was a woman on that went to Jenny Craig and lost alot of weight...OK..I know what you are all thinking...yeah, sure...Jenny, Weight Watchers, Slim fast..they're all the same..well, maybe so, but it's what YOU put into them...Not only did thid woman lose weight, this woman lost 244 POUNDS. She was nearly 400 pounds and now she is in the 150's. It took her 18 months to do it...I wonder how many times in that year and a half that she wanted to give up????? I don't think I would have had the courage to even try... At nearly 400 pounds, I would have just shut down completely. She did it because one day her 8 year old daughter told her she didn't want her to die. She saw the fear in her child's eyes and she made a committment to herself that she was going to beat this. She asked the Lord for help...Praise Him He hears his children! / If you saw the before and after pictures of this woman you would NOT belive it... She has kept the weight off for over two years now and she vows never to get that out of control again. Today, I saw the same woman on a commercial for Jenny Craig and it was just as amazing to me today. You see...what motivates one person may not motivate another. You have to look deep within yourself and find out what it is that drives you. Angel..I had sciatica for 3 months when I was pregnant with my son and I couldn't move...was homebound and in agony, and couldn't take any meds... I will be praying for you and aleina and all of us who have some need in this area..whether it be for motivation or for just peace about our own situations.

now that the meds have run their course I am feeling much less crumpy and didn't want to show disrespect to my co-workers... I edited this post cos everyone here really works hard and when things get missed it's just cos we are all so buried... I do love it here and if I lead you to believe that someone wasn't doing their job, I apologize [ 11-28-2001: Message edited by: embie ]

actually, i haven't been going to any church at all because of some problems we are having at home that i don't want to discuss out in the open just now. but i would have been happy to give you a ride. i passed your way around church time anyway...but you wouldn't have known that.

Lowfat eggnog tastes nasty on cereal... Went to Krogers tonight for milk. Spent $97.38 (including the coupons they gave me while walking around). Did I mention I live by myself? Bought all kinds of stuff (never go grocery shopping when you are hungry). Came home without milk. I am gonna try somma dat eggnog in my coffee tomorrow =========================================== Went to Walmart twice today (cuz that's where I bought it and it was a free replacement) to get my battery fixed (on my vehicle). They were too busy the first time so I dropped it off at 7, went to choir practice with my bro, came back at 8:45 and they were just getting around to it. Blake apparently isn't too good with wrenches cuz it took him >20minutes and the help of another employee and the auto shop manager to unscrew 2 bolts (at one point Jerry and I both saw him tightening them :mad . At one other point, Blake came to us in the store and said: "You're gonna have to come back tomorrow, I can get one of the bolts out." He explained that Mike would be there and he coud do it cuz he's been there a long time and could do that stuff... That's when I got the manager involved... he took the last bolt out, set my old battery down while the 2 other employees walked away, then picked up the old battery to go put it away and never came back - we saw him 10 minutes later walking out the front door leaving work for the day It was 9:20 and no-one was putting a new battery in my vehicle! That's when the store manager got involved... ~5-7 minutes later we had a new battery and were leaving... on my way to Krogers.
