A: ugh, it's gonna be blazin hot - the rain clouds keep passing and not dropping any water

Q: Anyone watching "Hell's Kitchen"? I don't think we've missed an episode in 3 years

A: yes, john loves hells' kitchen. we watched it tonight. and frankly, i never want to eat out again. i mean sweat in the appetizers, raw meat, dudes not washing lettuce. ugh. okay, so i watch that show and really NOONE impresses me. even when they have free run of making up their own menu. bummer.

Q: who do you think will win ?

A: No-one really impresses me either. We caught a couple episodes of "Top Chef" this weekend and they seem *miles* ahead of the chefs on Hell's Kitchen. I mean, what kind of chef still can't make rice?

I believe it will come down to Bobby and Carly, with Carly taking it. The rest are all about the same.

Q: Anyone besides me watch way too much TV?

A) I can't watch Hell's kitchen. I can only endure so much ridicule on a person. I do however love to watch the Iron chefs. I think that's real skill to make something out of nothing and make it look and taste incredible in record time. That would be an awesome job...to be a judge for the iron chef's.

A1) If I was actually awake for as long as the TV is on, I would say that I watch too much...however, as soon as I "assume the position" I'm sleeping before I can even count Sheep # 1

Q) Anyone taking steps to limit their driving/gas consumption?

A1: I walk to work a couple times a week (helps that we live only 2 blocks away ). We sometimes walk to the gym that's 6 blocks away, but in nearly 100 degree heat we don't do it often (enough). Our distance from work and gym is the main reason we chose the locations for both, so I guess we did take gas consumption into consideration. Church is about 1 - 1.5 miles away.

A2: The people competing on HC know going in the ridicule is part of it. I'm sure a lot of it's for show for the cameras, but come on - who plans to be an executive chef at a world re-nowned restaurant and doesn't know how to cook a medium-well steak or decent rice? They deserve some yelling for the poor job they do...

Q: Driving less?

A. Much less. New job is why. Local- 15 miles from house. 8-5. havent worked 8-5 in 16 years. Weird. But i am likin in.

Q. Supplements for energy or weight loss?

A) Yes please...

Q) Who's got'em???

A: uh, advocare brand is pretty good, but allen is the pro on the stuff out there. we are down to one car. we dont use it much, but now we have to drive to beaumont, 200 plus miles one way to APPEASE in laws. can i be any clearer about my feelings on this matter ???

Q: anyone else feel like thier dreams are lost somewhere out there ... like you wouldnt know where to find them even if you were brave enough to start looking for them ?

A: I really don't - I was there for the longest, but I think God drug me kicking and screaming to them It's extremely easy to get lost in the everyday.

A1: Sad to say I haven't been into supplements much in the last couple years. The top 2 are: a one-a-day multivit/mineral (we get the generic from Krogers that mimics centrum), and a good whey protein (doesn't have to be expensive). If you are wanting to gain muscle/strength, throw in some creatine to boost the process. Other than that, try to eat as cleanly as possible - fresh fruit and veggies, and lean meats.

Q: How about you?

A) I still have some dreams. I'm just hoping they don't outlive me.

A2) They had a blowout sale of a drug store chain's stock and I got B-12, B100 Complex, Echinacea, and Acidophilus & Probiotic Complex for 10% of their original cost and they are good through Dec 2009. I haven't started taking them yet, but plan too tomorrow.

Q) Anyone ever poach a whole fish?

A: no, but that sounds totally yummy. i am way behind on my seafood cooking, i still want to learn how to plank cook a fish.

Q: anyone else's mother totally nuts and bi-polar ? (and allen, just pass this one up cause your mom is a total sweetheart)

A) If Rachel was posting here she would say yes...

A: My mom is a total sweetheart We had her retirement party last Thursday evening, must have been 50+ co-workers there from her 30 years of nursing. She's going to take a break for a month or so then work a few days a week in the hospice with us.

A)2 Good so far, (aside from that whole four days of stomach turning inside out) Gonna take two weeks off here starting the first.

A: David thinks it's summer all year long Melanie and I are pretty tied to our new biz's right now - no fun travel for us Luckily I have to be in Austin or Dallas once a month for the hospice so we do get a 1-2 day break from the routine
