im late to church....just wanted to say before i go have a good day to you too. ps...allen, what you said helps a little. the nobody is a little encouraging too for some strange reason. for someone to tell you that they will NEVER beleive in God is hard to stomach. for someone to be asking questions for the purpose of finding the truth....give me a little hope.

well since your going to be on and off the website today, I'll go ahead and say howdy! anyways, I always have a small piece of hope in anything that goes on or happens. when DA says he will never believe in God, I don't believe him because their is always a chance. This is a true story. . .about 20 yrs. ago this man was a devout atheist, he didn't believe in anything. well one night, he had a dream. I can't remember all the details of his dream but He was in hell. Like a near-death experience where you actually "see the light," this man had a near-hell experience. There were souls of people in hell who began to surround him, attacking him. He woke up because the dream was so real, he believed he had really been in hell. Today he is an ordained minister at a church. If that is possible, then anything is. The fact that DA and Nobody are seeking answers gives me hope.

Anyway, I'll start my questions here since it seems to be a blank slate so far.
First, a couple of basics to start with:
We can assume for this topic one thing --
That God exists. That way we don't repeat the discussion we have going with DA, I'd like to keep that one there.
Assuming that, I'm going to assume that you use the Bible as His communication with us, and that is fine. Just don't start mixing in too many other books and authorities, I don't trust any of them.
Finally, please speak English. Religion has its own language and not everyone is fluent in your dialect. Make yourself understandable to the average person.

Having said that, here's the first question -
Can you explain to me the concept of sin? What it is and what makes it bad? I know that's a bit of a generic question, but I prefer to start with basics.

okay...I know you're not askin me specifically, and I know that it just seems as if I hafta put my 2 cents worth in everywhere I go....but I really like this question.

He couldve chosen men of high esteem with good reputations and high levels of education. But a tax collector? Nobody liked them. And a fisherman? Why, he prolly had a mouth like a sailor...

I believe He chose the ones He did to show us that we don't have to look good (thank God) or be rich (again, thank God) or be really smart (th...well, you know)...or even have lived a clean and respectable life before. As long as you abandon all you are and let Him take control of your heart and your life, then He CAN USE YOU!!!
I could go on, but I'll let someone else take a turn. My brain hurts.

OK... OK...we got past the easy stuff... but pick one disciple and really dive in. Not today or in a hurry but let's find out why this one who was he and what times did he do what to make a difference.
