Oh God,
It’s Christmas. I am so busy shopping, working, cleaning, and cooking that I want to make time to thank you for the incredible gift you gave to me.
Oh God, help me today to think of the feelings of others as much as I think of my own.
If I know that there are things which annoy the people with whom I live and work, help me not to do them.
Help me to think before I speak so that I may not thoughtlessly hurt anyone else.
If I have to differ with anyone help me to do so with courtesy. The holidays are often stressful.
If I have to find fault with anyone help to do so with kindness.
If anyone has to find fault with me, help me to accept it gracefully.
Help me through this season to treat others with love and generosity.
Bless the people who are thinking of me during this holiday and praying for tonight, my parents, my family and my friends and my loved one.
Bless those who have no one to remember them during this blessed season. It can be a lonely time. Bless those who have no one to pray for them.
Bless those who especially need my prayers.
Those who are in illness and pain and whose life is in the balance.
Bless those who live with regret and remorse and have despair. Trade their sorrows for your strength.
Bless me as I celebrate this time of your birth.
Grant me a grateful heart for all of your gifts, especially the gift of your Son.
May my heart stay at peace because it rests in your love.
And thank you for Christmas.
Amen
