Looking for great family entertainment? Look no further than these 2 excellent movies.
Shrek -
starring: Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz , Linda Hunt, and Eddie Murphy
directed by: Andrew Adamson
rated: PG
plot: "Shrek (Myers) is a cynical, no-nonsense ogre whose swamp has been overrun by annoying fairy tale creatures. He sets out to save his home and along the way, is befriended by a wise-cracking donkey (Murphy), sent to slay a fire-breathing dragon and save a beautiful princess (Diaz) with a deep, dark secret. In the end, Shrek learns to love and be loved."
official website: http://www.shrek.com/ - can be seen by the whole family, the mixture of guy and girls I was with all laughed the entire way through the movie...

A Knight's Tale -
starring: Heath Ledger, Mark Addy, Paul Bettany
directed by: Brian Helgeland
rated: PG-13
plot: When his master meets an untimely demise, a young squire (Ledger) in 14th century France takes his identity, working his way up the jousting circuit, earning nobility that should be impossible for someone not nobly born. Why does he do it? He needs to take down an evil-doer, of course. (Mark Addy plays Ledger's assistant, best friend, and occasional "muscle". Another supporting character is scribe Geoffrey Chaucer, who will go on to write The Canterbury Tales. Sossamon plays Ledger's romantic interest).
official website: http://www.aknightstale.com/ - a truly "fun" romantic-action-comedy, the newcomer acting crew pull off a great job in this one. More of a "date" movie than Shrek, there are a couple of rear nudity scenes by the actor playing Chaucer, and there is some mild violence, but the language isn't too bad (that I remember). They had a rather "interesting" mix of modern music in the middle-ages setting.
