If I may, I'd like to start a topic I don't see much of in my local paper or on the news - this will read something like "news of the weird" but be about issues and events I see around the world. If this isn't the correct forum, please, moderator, move it to the correct one

Something I was reading just now struck a nerve hard enough to make me register and post about it:

I'm about to plan a little trip with my family and extended family, and I would like to ask you to assist me. I'm going to walk across the border from the US into Mexico, and I need to make a few arrangements. I know you can help with this.

I plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passport, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here.

So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Vicente Fox, that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:

1. Free medical care for my entire family.

2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.

3. All government forms needs to be printed in English.

4. I want my kids to be taught by English-speaking teachers.

5.Schools need to include classes on American culture and history.

6. I want my kids to see the American flag flying on the top of the flag pole at their school with the Mexican flag flying down.

7. Please plan to feed my kids at school for both breakfast and lunch.

8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.

9. I do not plan to have any car insurance, and I won't make any effort to learn local traffic laws.

10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from Pres Fox to leave me alone, please be sure that all police officers speak English.

11. I plan to fly the US flag from my house top, put flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.

12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying taxes, and never say a critical word about me, or about the strain I might place on the economy.

13. Please tell all the people in the country to be extremely nice and never say a critical word about me, or about the strain I might place on the ecomony.

I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all the people who come to the U.S. from Mexico. I am sure that Pres Fox won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely. However, if he gives you any trouble, just invite him to go quail hunting with your V.P.

What Is The Second Picture?



Obviously, it's a picture in a cemetery. What cemetery and whose grave?

Sadly, it's the grave of Casey Sheehan. After two years, and a DoD payment of $250,000 to the "Peace Mom", Cindy Sheehan has not had the time or bothered to have a headstone placed on this young hero's grave. And, she doesn't even have to pay for one, the DoD will provide one:

"The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) furnishes upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a government headstone or marker for the grave of any deceased eligible veteran in any cemetery around the world . For all deaths occurring before September 11, 2001, the VA may provide a headstone or marker only for graves that are not marked with a private headstone.

Flat markers in granite, marble, and bronze and upright headstones in granite and marble are available. The style chosen must be consistent with existing monuments at the place of burial. Niche markers are also available to mark columbaria used for internment of cremated remains."

Apparently she can find time to protest on at least 3 continents, get arrested various times, go on vacation in Hawaii, have photo ops with the Marxists in Venezuela, but can't seem to find the time to properly mark her son's grave.

The lack of a headstone may be false, but the general lunacy of the marxist/terrorist-loving nutjob is verifiable She took 2 years to wait to have one placed because she can't "citing her grief and unwillingness to acknowledge her son's death". Meanwhile she travels around the world to be seen with those who hate America (Hugo Chavez) et al while speaking out at every chance about her son's death. She was part of the group that placed hundreds of crosses protesting the dead soldiers yet she can't put a headstone at her son's grave?

Just a little follow-up on the story:

It is much more true than it is false. I understand the headstone was placed May 27 2006, 783 days after Casey's death according to news sources. There's no record of when the email was originally sent out, surely > 2 years is more than enough time to get a headstone placed on a gravesite. The $250k in insurance money she rec'd upon his death apparently wasn't enough money to properly honor her son.

How did she spend her time instead?

- She traveled to DC in Jan. 2005 to speak at a anti-war rally

- She traveled to San Diego and San Francisco in March 2005 to speak at anti-war rallies

- She spent the month of August 2005 camped out in crawford texas protesting the war (during which she helped commemorate Casey's death by placing a white cross in a field) at her "Camp Casey".

- In Sept 2005 she made headlines for calling Hurricane Katrina (in which >1800 people died) "just a little wind and water" because she was angry attention was drawn away from her anti-war movement

- She protested in Washington, DC during September 2005, getting herself thrown in jail in the process

- In November and December 2005 she traveled promoting her book to back to texas, then chicago, london, ireland, and madrid, spain.

- In January 2006 she traveled to South America giving a liplock to marxist dictator Hugo Chavez in Venezuela.

- Back to DC later that month for more protesting. (another arrest)

- March 2006 - protesting in NY, NY (another arrest)

Woman raped before "honor killing"

Sadly I've heard of that happening quite often in the middle east. Honor is utmost to the family name. If it is tarnished they could lose everything business, home, etc. I saw something about it on one of the cable networks where the father's give the orders and the brother's do the deed. It's almost always over sexual encounters with someone other than the person "chosen" to marry the daughter. The brother's don't seem to have any remorse either. So very frightening to be a young woman over there.

Life expectancy I'm sure is quite a bit less for the female in that religion than the male.
