You ask me to consider Christianity as the answer for my Life... IVE DONE THAT! I consider it untrue, repugnant, and harmful.
I find it rediculous that you ask me to believe that the earth was created in six literal days; woman came from a mans rib; a snake a donkey and a burning bush spoke human language; all animal species, millions of them, rode on one boat;a detatched hand floated in the air and wrote on a wall; Jesus walked on water unaided; fish and bread magically multiplied to feed the hungry; water instantly turned into wine; a fiery lake of eternal torment awaits underneath the earth while there is a life after death city that is 1500 miles cubed with mansions and food for CHRISTIANS only. If you believe these stories, then you are the one with the problem, not me. These myths violate natural law, contradict science, and fail to correspond with reality or logic. If you cant see that, then you cant seperate truth from fantasy. It doesnt matter how many people accept the delusions inflicted by "holy" men; a widley held lie is still a lie. If Christianity were simply untrue, I would not be to concerned. Santa is untrue but people out grow him. But christianity besides being false is also abhorrent. It amazes me that you claim to love the God of the Bible, a hateful, arrogant, sexist, cruel being WHO CANT TOLERATE CRITICISM. I would not want to live in a neighborhood as such a creature! The Biblical God is a macho male warrior. Though he said "Thou shall not Kill" he ordered death for all opposition. He punished offspring to the fourth generation; ordered pregnant woman an children to be ripped up; is partial to one race of people; judges women as inferior to men; is a sadist who created hell to torture unbelievers;created evil;spread dung on peoples faces; sent bears to devour 42 children who teased a prophet; punished people with snakes, dogs, dragons, swords, axes, fire, famine, and infantcide; and said fathers should eat their sons. Is that nice??? would you want to live next door to a person? DO you see why i do not respect the biblical message? It is an insulting bag of nonsense. You have every right to torment yourself with such insanity, but leave me outr of it. I have better things to do with my life.
Im open for any replies im pretty sure i am prepared for them.

If you beleive all of that, then it doesn't matter right? As you have the right/choice not to beleive others have the right to beleive.
What I wonder is, why do you feel you need to come to a place like this and say this? Are you hoping someone may give you cause to beleive? It sounds as though you've laid down a challenge. If you truly beleived what you've said there'd be no need to every say it anywhere.
I always thought an agnostic was a beleiver who didn't go to church. An atheist is the one who doesn't beleive in God or anything after death. Or have I been wrong all these years. It also interests me that all the negative things you say you beleive about God and christians, is what you've espoused from the other side it seems. What can be accomplished by the arrogant, cruel and hateful message you bring.
All you need do is beleive quietly and beleive what you will. That way you can be above all others who would have you think and beleive as they do. I suspect the way to be left out is to quietly stay out. You must know full well there will be people here who will do their best to save you. So I guess this begs the questions, what is your point? Why did you really come here? Did you just find us in a search. .org's just don't pop up out of nowhere do they? Was it a miracle you found us? Finally, you sound pretty tormented to me. Shouldn't your beleifs bring peace and serenity?

Howdy AH. I'm embie and I am also a believer. Did I read your post correctly that at one time you were a Christian? It sounds like someone or some church may have let you down or caused you harm in some way. If so, I am truly sorry for that. Sometimes Christians only get one chance at a first impression. I'm sorry yours was a negative one. We are supposed to be ambassadors for Christ on this Earth, and show others the love of Jesus. I wish that would have happened for you. If you stick around a while, you may find that not all Christians are horrible people, and moreso that our God is not such a horrible God. I really hope you give us a chance to show you that.

this is why its important to be our best as a living witness to others, not words alone, but actions. first impressions can be lasting. there are many who make us Christians look bad, usually media. its sad, but true. sorry for your negative experience. i could share some with you too. you are NOT alone!

Welcome, glad you are here - if you are really looking for answers to your questions - stay a while, do some reading and ask some more if you are still looking; btw - none of us have all the answers, we're searching for them as well. There's a few threads you might find interesting: God...what god? - by our very own agnostic, Devil's Advocate Seeing Life from God\'s View A real God??? What on Earth am I Here For? You Are Not an Accident Quite a few subjects are covered, from questioning God's very existence, to questioning His motives for His actions. We find faith is what most questions boil down to with equal helpings of purpose, hope, love, and grace. If you are truly looking for answers to your questions, stick around a while and we'll look for them as well, welcome

Allen is correct, we dont have all the answers nor claim to. we are human also, and open to mistakes . even misleading others in our own confusion. been there, cried that. I grieve over those Ive lost to being a bad witness myself.

A.H., your assertions above which you state as fact, are many times written, how shall i say, less than correct factually. For instance hell was not created for any of us(Gods children), it was created for the devil and his legions of demons(they do exist BTW). Many of us around here have searched the religions and the philosophies of life and made the logical and emotional/spiritual decision that Christ was real, the Bible was factual,(some allegorical), God is the creator, the battle of Good and Evil exists in our lives and this world spiritually, and there is a Heaven and a HEll. Ultimately we have already chosen which one of these eternal places we will attend....and we can change that ....both you and me. You see to me, to believe that once you die, your spirit dies too, is more ludicrous than to believe that your spirit lives on in a place prepared by the one who created us. To believe that there is no creator is more ludicrous than believing there is. I could go on, but at this point, i think you get my drift. This website is full of people who have experienced God firsthand and in person. If you hang around awhile, be careful, God just may reveal Himself to you in a way that will change you forever......like it or not.....the God of the Bible loves YOU and right now is sitting beside You , watching YOU read this post on a website You just stumbled across. He will trade your anger for joy and sorrow for happiness. He will give you peace and endurance when life outright sucks. He will give you wisdom and He will give you favor among men. He will heal your body, mind and spirit, and He will reveal to YOU ... YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE on this place called Earth. Once you find your purpose and destiny in life, EVERYTHING CHANGES. Nabster

I'm really up for a good discussion...but not gonna use up time to post all the stuff I have to say if you're not gonna stick around to reply or even read it...wondering if you're still around, is all. Helllloooo?? So anyway, I will say that I thought as did someone above that athiests believed in no supreme being and agnostics believed in a being, a force, a something...but just didn't call it God. So do you believe in God or a god, spirit, life after death, anything? Big Bang? Evolution? Nothing? Just curious... Oh, and I have to know...do you think that if a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it that it doesn't actually make a sound? Anyway, ummm...I really wanna comment on some of the things you said if you're still around. I love a good discussion...
