I'm joining late... I've found most of the questions (I hope) and here are my brief answers. Would you rather... Be in a country that is morally bankrupt, or financially bankrupt? Financially! No question. I think I'm even at a point in life where I'd prefer to be without all the stoof that the US has. It's nothing but a distraction to focusing on God. be phenominally good at one thing and not too good at anything else, or moderately good at many things and not outstandingly good at anything at all?I am envious of some people who are amazingly talented in music or are just brilliant... but I'm very happy being fairly good at most things and having a little knowledge about alot of things. ...have one faithful friend (other than God) that you can trust with your life and all of your secrets and have NO other acquaintences, or have many fairly close acquaintences but no one that you would trust with everything?Have one faithful friend. Nuff said. ...break a promise to someone you admire, or break the heart of someone who loves you?Oh boy... I'm assuming whomever I lie to in this scenario finds out? I think I'd rather break a promise to someone I admire. Hope y'all don't mind my mentioning a poem that reminded me of... (actually, it's only part of a poem.. and I don't know the title... sorry) I will be true, for there are those that trust me. I will be pure, for there are those that care. I will be strong, for there is much to suffer. I will be brave, for there is much to dare. --Harold Arnold Walter ...know that you had exactly 365 days to live, or die unexpectedly?Die unexpectedly. I know the theory that if you know your death is coming you'll spend that last year with great meaning and intent.. but I fear I would just worry about the things I would need to get done. ...be lied about or lied to?One of the things that actually does upset me is injustice. I feel that when a person is lied about, that is just soo unfair, and it has the potental to really irritate me. So I'd rather be lied to. ------------------ We must become the change we want to see. --Mahatma Gandhi I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants. --A. Glad to have you in the discussion! Gottanother question: Would you rather....
....think that you are doing the right thing and it turn out to be the wrong thing, or know that you are doing the right thing but for the wrong reason?

Thanks ever so, Michelle.
I would rather do what I think is the right thing and it turn out to be the wrong thing. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to be doing things in ignorance and wind up doing things which are no good...
But when I look at the other option, I just don't like the idea of doing things (even the right things) for the wrong reason.
But this is prolly the toughest one yet. Great question!

Okay...it's been a while. Got another one, and then I think I'll post a few silly ones just for fun...but I'm curious about this one, because I think that, at one time or another, most of us have experienced the loss or near loss of a loved one. Would you rather... Die on the way home after exchanging unkind words with a close friend, or make it home to recieve the news that your friend died on the way home? And if you are gonna say that you'd rather die so that your friend could live/you wouldn't have to deal with the guilt, think about this: If your friend lives, the last words you spoke to them were in anger...and remember, niether choice is supposed to be a "good choice"...

This one ain't too hard, of course I wouldn't want my friend to hear unkind words from me as my last words.... sooo... au revoir friend, it was nice knowing you.
I mean, I know some of you would hope that you die instead of me dieing if your last words to me were about how I am always late to everything, I'm never on time to anything, I might as well eat worms, etc.... a little extreme, but you get the point.
Now, if we are discussing maybe my parents or brothers, then that's a whole different story... they all still have children to raise, etc... so the choice between them or me would be easy, and it wouldn't be them, bad words or not...

This brings into the discussion the greater good.... even if my act was for the wrong reason, it would be far better for me to be doing the right thing for that wrong reason than for me to be doing the wrong thing because I didn't know the difference, or any better... Extreme example #2: I give you $25,000 to buy a car, knowing you need one, but doing it so you will like me is way better than me selling you that same car at a discount for $20,000 not knowing that it's a lemon and will blow up when you drive out of the driveway... ------------------ - Allen - 2000 Presidential Campaign: $2,000,000,000 - 2000 Presidential Post-Election Fight: $38,000,000 (and rising) - Democracy in Action: Priceless

So if you I told you that you were always late to everything and you said "oh yea...well you're always later!!!!"...I shouldn't be expectin ya to jump into the middle of traffic to push me out of the way of a moving car! Just kidding...I see your point. Anyone else???

I think I confused people by bringing logic into it... OK, yes, I would jump out in front of you in traffic so we would both be killed but look heroic doing it. ------------------ - Allen In <FONT COLOR="Black">( (((</FONT c><FONT COLOR="Brown">((((</FONT c><FONT COLOR="Red">((</FONT c><FONT COLOR="Orange">((</FONT c><FONT COLOR="Yellow">((</FONT c><FONT COLOR="navy">(STEREO)</FONT c>))<FONT COLOR="Yellow">))</FONT c><FONT COLOR="Orange">))</FONT c><FONT COLOR="Red">))</FONT c><FONT COLOR="Brown">))</FONT c><FONT COLOR="Black">)) ) )</FONT c> Where Available

Don't be silly...if you jumped in front of me, it would slow the moving vehichle down enough for me to roll out of the way. After all, I would be mad at you for telling me that I was later to everything than you ... HAHA! Logic usually does confuse people...I understood what you were saying, tho. If I died after telling you that you were the most sarcastic suchnsuch I ever met and that I wouldn't care if you were late to my funeral even cause you aren't invited...your last memory of our friendship wouldn't be too peachy. That is why I don't like to see "friends" not speaking to each other over something silly...I mean, we aren't guaranteed tomorrow. We are all going to go leaving things undone and unsaid. When I go, I want my friends to know that I really did love them. I don't want them to have to wonder...

Okay, I said a loooooong loooooooooooong time ago that I was gonna do one for fun, and as usual, procrastination gets in the way... So here goes: Would you rather have the power to be invisible, or the power to fly. And why? ------------------ Michelle

ooohhh oohhh!! I have thought about this one before, not as an either/or.. but one or the other at different points in time....or something I would rather be invisible, because it would be so much more useful, but prolly for all the wrong reasons... Depending on air speed, I would rather be able to fly if I could go fast enough that airplanes were un-necessary... I really want to travel more than I do, see friends in far-off places for an evening, etc... but the real usefulness wouldn't come in unless you were able to carry someone like superman... travel is so much more fun with someone... ok, so flying would be it, as long as speed and the ability to carry were sufficient... ------------------ - Allen In <FONT COLOR="Black">( (((</FONT c><FONT COLOR="Brown">((((</FONT c><FONT COLOR="Red">((</FONT c><FONT COLOR="Orange">((</FONT c><FONT COLOR="Yellow">((</FONT c><FONT COLOR="navy">(STEREO)</FONT c>))<FONT COLOR="Yellow">))</FONT c><FONT COLOR="Orange">))</FONT c><FONT COLOR="Red">))</FONT c><FONT COLOR="Brown">))</FONT c><FONT COLOR="Black">)) ) )</FONT c> Where Available

True...true... I would almost say that I would rather be invisible...however, I would be able to get away with too much that I prolly shouldn't be gettin away with...hear things I prolly wouldn't wanna hear...ect. Soooooo...I would have to go with flying too. Much less expensive. Cut down on gas milage, wear and tear on the car...save time, no fighting traffic... I would be able to travel more...I could just put Celeste on my shoulders or something and whooooosh!! Up up and away!!!!! Just decide to make a trip to Italy one weekend...I wouldn't even have to pay for the flight! Could get awful interestin' if it were to rain in mid trip, tho. ------------------ Michelle

Would you rather be able to meet with the current president of the United States for one hour and give him advice, or meet with ANY other former president of the U.S. for one hour and ask for their advice?
