"Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never - in nothing,
great or small, large or petty - never give in except to convictions
of honor and good sense."

Those who say they can't...
usually get passed up by those who did.

To give in is to say that whatever it is you are trying to accomplish can not be done...

Yet, if HIS word say's "I can do ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens me." and we say it can not be done whose word are we questionning....ours or Gods??

Do yourself a favor and throw the phrase "give up" out of the window because God CAN do anything.

Instead, when you say you are going to do something for God...Don't do it 50% and then blame it on "can't be done" give it 120% because it is for God's glory and see HIS soveriegn hand move everytime.

This applies to every aspect of life---not just your church life--

on the job---give them 120% for His glory
at school--- give them 120% for His glory
with your finances---give Him 120% ...
with your parents---give Him 120%...
to your friends---give Him 120%...
to yourself---give yourself 120%...

AND especially to HIM---give HIM 120%

I'm tired of hearing christians use "I don't have a peace about it anymore..." when the situation they are in begins to get a little tuff or loses its "New Appeal." Weather it has to do with a job...a relationship...finances...schooling...ministry work...or church affiliation...

The bottom line is the term "giving in" applies to our inadiqicies as humans and not God's nature. We make Him out to be a wishy-washy ruler who can't make up His mind. If you are in a situation that is tuff I believe that God is toughing you. And when you get tough enough for that level He will begin to toughen you up even more. Until the day comes that you are ready for "Your Assignment."

We are all in aspects of our lives that are not necessarily "Our Assignments" and I believe that God is looking at our character. Do we split as soon as He gives us our choice (Like a spoiled child who is only concerned with what their Dad can give them...)or do we stick it out and tell Him "It's not what you can do for me but what I can do for you!"

I had a friend growing up that everytime His dad would take us to a Lamar basketball game My friend would say as soon as we got their "dad can we go sit down by the cheerleaders?" Our seats were further up in the stands--and His dad who couldn't come with us always said "guys do what you want to do." And everytime we would sprint down courtside leaving his dad alone the whole game.
You see his dad gave us a choice and we immaturely took it...but now looking back I wish ...just one time...we would have said "Nah--I appreciate you letting us but I came here to spend time with you."

Now I know kids never think like that, but its funny how grown-ups don't either.

God gives us an option or an easier path and instead of saying "thanks but let me finish this that you gave me to do," we GIVE UP and blame it on His peace. The peace that surpasses all understanding sure is "understood" by a lot of wishy-washy Christians.

It's time that we tell God THANK YOU simply by giving Him that which He deserves 120%

Once again Whit, when you put your mind to it, you write some gems.... that's good knowledge you are sharing there, it does sound like you have been there, know where you are going.

We too often look for the easy way out in a tough situation when God is only just this once wanting us to finally say: "I can't do it on my own, God, it's yours." Honor your commitments, do not back down when it gets a little hard, or just ain't new anymore. Believe in Him, He will provide you with whatever you think you are lacking to get His job done.
