Thank you to everyone who prayed Several times today it looked like there was no way we would pass, there was just way too much to get done (the corporate office had changed names after they had drawn up all the contracts with our vendors and before we were actually in business - we had to get everyone of them re-drawn up and re-signed by our CEO, myself, and the admins from the vendors ( did I mention that for a lot of them we were in 3 different states? )... plus a lot of little things had to be done on many of our policies and procedures so they met texas's standards as well as national standards - in other words a lot of stuff we could do nothing about). Anyways, it seemed like there was no way we were gonna pass, and if we didn't, it coulda been 90 days before we saw them again But then God... / we just kept after it and all the things began falling into place - everything was complete except for one contract with the hospital and I talked to someone at church tonight who will probably be able to get us moved to the top of the COO of the hospital's stack of things to do I gotta head to Biloxi in the morning for some meetings, will be back saturday evening. I'll probably be online in the evening as all there is to do is gamble in the casino (we're staying at the isle of capri hotel ) thank you again

We had a referral called in for this 97 year old lady with 'advanced aids'. We pondered for several days while waiting for the paperwork on how in the world a 97 year old would have hiv. Even is she was the first person in the US to get hiv, she woulda still been in her 70's or so We finally decided either she got it through a blood transfusion, or she was living in a rather liberal retirement home

Thankyou guys... I know the job will have days like this, the circumstances just could have been better. Funerals are the next couple of days, we'll be attending and working with the family over the next year or so for bereavement.

God Bless you and thank you for the work you do Allen. Hopefully you will be able to build staff and get volunteers so you don't burn yourself out. At Angela we have a seperate crew to deal with bereavement which frees the caregivers up to do just that if they want/need to. I'm glad to hear that there will be follow up for the family. That too is handled by our bereavement team. A hint, most every volunteer and there are over 500 of us had a loved one in hospice care. It's our way of giving back. There is a mandatory year wait after the death before a volunteer can be trained. One more hint, just in case it's not been covered for all. Whoever does the bereavement should refrain from ever saying, "I know how you feel or I know what you are going through." The person saying that only knows what they felt and experienced. It's quick way to lose the person grieving. Also, LISTENING is of utmost importance. This is about them telling their story, Not hearing about someone else's. It's rough to do it right in the beginning.

Thankyou Thom Came in handy today/tonight. We had a couple on hospice, she had a brain tumor and he had copd. Both weren't doing well, but he seemed sicker. She died unexpectedly this morning, he died tonight, 12 hours later. He wasn't very lucid, but I'm sure he could tell her spirit had left the room and decided it was time to go too. Neither struggled, just stopped breathing and that was it... Anyways, please pray for the family, thank you.

I'm praying too.
It can't describe what I feel about your post, Allen. I guess I wish that someone could love me so much as to "know" my spirit had gone and want to go now too. Made me weep for their love.
God is so good.
