Hey...me again. So this class I'm taking can be a bit overwhelming at times. Anyway I had this test on Thursday and I was super stressed about it because if you flunk a test, then you are dropped fromt he class (flunking being less than a 70%). To make a long story short, I wasn't told that the anatomy and physiology of the human body was on the test until three days before. And with me working full time and having class three nights a week, study time was limited. So I studied hard, and prayed really hard that God would give me mercy and clarity of mind because I had honestly worked as hard as I could. And He did!!!!!! God is good...all the time! His, Latte

Oooh ok, so we took our second exam on Thursday night and got it back today... I got a 103%!!!!!!!!! I only missed two questions...and I am still trying to figure out what was going through my mind when I labelled that darn diagram wrong because I *so* knew the right answer... anyway, I am very happy... at this rate, I don't think I'll be dropped from the class due to failure...at least I hope not. I won't count my chickens until they hatch. All I can say is...God is good all the time. (and all the time, God is good...hehe) But I would ask for your prayers as this class is in a secular environment and as an EMT training class we have to get pretty up close and personal with each other in our practice of assessing patients, etc and so there are a lot of perverted jokes and such being thrown out. As a Christian, it's hard for me to #1 not laugh cause they're funny and #2 not come across as being a pious snob. I've got a tattoo of a Christian fish and as soon as we start wearing shorts, it will be rather obvious, but I want people to notice a difference in me now...a good difference ya know? Ok, signing off...

Hey great job on the test!!!!!!!!
About the jokes and such. Don't get offended unless they are offensive (overly sexual, anti christian etc) .... If a joke is funny then laugh, if it is not appropriate say so and don't re-tell it...
I work with six other men and it gets pretty inapropriate around here from time to time. Sometimes I just have had to quietly leave the room. Nowadays it is rare to hear something that truly offends me (which is pretty tough anyway) but the guys have learned what the boundries are that are acceptable. Your coworkers/classmates will also!
God bless!

Congrats on the test! I agree with Steve, not repeating or making more jokes should sink in with them. If truly offensive I wouldn't hesitate to say so. Laugh whenever you can, it's very healthy to laugh.

Hey, so thanks so much for all of your encouragement! I means a lot and it must be doing something because I just got my third exam back and, while I didn't get over 100% (like my first two), I still ace-d it! I am pleased because for the first time in my life, I am studying hard for things and passing them as opposed to just cramming at the last minute or not studying at all. I am one of those people who can do well on a test without studying and now I feel like I truly deserve the grades I am recieving. And thanks for your advice on the joking around thing. No one bashes Christianity or anything, but the jokes are just tending toward the sexual perversion side of things and such. And hey, yeah I do laugh at the funny ones and I kind of make a face at the ones that I find disgusting and/or inappropriate. His, Latte

Alright...another fun EMT class story. So I was walking out to my car tonight after class and two of my classmates (they're married, actually) were behind me so they were asking how my weekend was and all that. Then, she asked me "Hey, so have you seen The PAssion?" I haven't (class wed and thurs nights and then i was out of the country friday until this afternoon) but said i was going to. Then she started telling me how powerful it was to her and stuff. So, maybe they're Christians?! I don't know, but eithe rway I told her I want to talk to her more after I get to see it and she was like "for sure!" Anyway, if they're Christians, then that is really really awesome because I thought I was the only one in the class and sometimes, it just gets off color so I feel so alone, ya know? But even if they're not, I am still thinking that this could be a really good conversation! So, I want to see the movie ASAP! I am pretty happy! His, Latte
