On a lighter note... I'm going to the Women of Faith conference that starts tonight and will go through tomorrow late tomorrow afternoon. I am so thankful that the Lord has opened up this schedule for that these women can come to CT. There is nothing I need more right now than to be with believers that just want to spend time in worship and fellowship. I've been in a place that I'm not comfortable in, in my spiritual walk. I'm looking at this as a spiritual rebirth, and a correction to the path I was wandering off of... It's already passed in TX. It was in Dallas in July and in Houston last year. If anyone gets the opportunity to attend one next year, it is an awesome, incredibly inspiring, conference. One not to miss...

Well, my dear friend, God musta heard your prayer as the first ever national conference is next March 18-20 in San Antonio. I'm grabbing my daughter, kidnapping Steve's wife and daughter and hollaring at any other sisters at PJ that are interested, and we're gonna go. They are making an exception this conference for the men, as Max Lucado will also be on stage. It would only be right for the men-folk to load up SUV's and join us, if not for the daytime, at least for after-hours devotions. Plan now and make time off on your calendar...

Congratulations Steve.
Here's a nice quote on the marriage covenant.

quote:
Husband and wife have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other and for their children. "Children are an heritage of the Lord" (Psalms 127:3). Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, to teach them to love and serve one another, to observe the commandments of God and to be law-abiding citizens wherever they live...
The family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities. By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners.

Great weekend I lead the 3rd grade boys in our church's children's ministry the second Sunday every month. A lot of them come from broken homes, in the projects - you can tell some are starved for affection. Thank you Lord for the opportunity to minister to some young boys who may not have a father-figure role model at home. /

What Embie says except for the marry part. You know Allen, in the short time I've been here you and Steve both cross my mind pretty frequently. You guys are a credit to our gender.
