Even though we've been battling the enemy in our home for a while now, God is always faithful.

My daughter is on a mission trip with the Builder's Team from our church and my son left tonight for a couple days with the Minister of Missions and his family to go to the beach in Maine.

This will give me some extra time to spend with God and get my nose into His Word. I have spent too much time tap dancing around the issues without just asking the One who holds all the answers... DUH!

Thanks Jesus for reminding me of what I need to be doing... /

There's a new book out about French women not being fat...(paraphrased). It has to do with the wine I think...

I think mostly it's because so many more of them walk so much more than we on the average do.

I'm not following any special diet, tho I am watching what I eat and not eating as much junk food as I got into for a while. Part of it as well was my finally going to the doctor after 15-20 years - I found out I *did* have pneumonia, so I got some antibiotics for that, but I also had a stomach bug called H. Pylori (basically gave me heartburn a lot - the same anitbiotics worked on that too), my cholesterol and triglycerides were high and my thyroid was way way low.

Not sure why, but it looks like I'll have to be on a low dose thyroid med for the rest of my life (I'm getting old ). Fixing my thyroid level will help the cholesterol and triglycerides and as a side-benefit will help me lose some weight by getting my metabolism up closer to a normal level. The weight loss itself will help with everything else too

Excellent...isn't it true though? People with medical education and knowledge make the worst patients. I make necessary appointments and then cancel them when the date gets close...

Glad the things "uncovered" were relatively minor...you are blessed...

Rachel was selected from our church to represent them in the Domenican Republic next February on the Quest mission team. She had to apply and meet certain criteria for acceptance. She got the nod on Monday. She is thrilled

After what seems like months of 100+ temps, it's gonna be a high of 84 tomorrow

i love this time in my kids' growth. they are finally learning to play together. my daughter will be 3 in december and my son is 1 as of august 3rd. he is already running and sliding and dancing up a storm. i put a small slide in the game room and they take turns chasing each other around and down it. cody's favorite thing to do to his sister is take her "binky" out of her mouth and run off with it and make her chase him. it is funny, they run laughing thru the house. this is what it is all about! then my daughter gets on my son's tummy and tickles him and although the poor thing cant breathe, he laughs till he finally starts fussing. they share everything and at night when they roll over and find each other, they hold each other.

it is just a good day, even though they are sick .. couldnt pass it up.

Seeing the beginning of the end of the issues here - still a long ways to go but progress is being made daily

We're expecting our first frost tonight...
I'm spending it at a little B & B in the country. Tonight was the first portion of the Women of Faith conference I go to each year. I'm back from it and will be soon enjoying some sushi and the quiet. Tomorrow morning we'll pick up again. I'm just so thankful for this time of refreshing. I didn't realize how much I needed it. God is so Faithful. /

my post might not have fit in, but what i was trying to say is i am soo glad to still have my family. i notice things now that i didnt before these tragedies.
