I've faced a couple of challenges over the last few weeks that caused me to dig deeper into my faith and not to question the "why's" of so many things. What God has shown me in the lives of others has really helped me to understand His presence in all of our lives, and that validation is all I need to get me through my difficulties. I need to share these two instances.
Last week a gf called to tell me that someone I had the pleasure to meet and spend the day with at a Women of Faith Conf. a couple of years back was in an awful car accident and her husband was killed. At the time of the conf. the woman had shared with me her concern over her husband's lack of faith and their rollercoaster marriage and we talked about how just living her life as an example was all she could do until the Holy spirit worked in his life. The woman had been driving the night of the accident. There was an on-going investigation because of the hour of the accident and some of the details were sketchy. My gf felt horrible because she remembered that the girl's husband had not been saved. When they went to visit her (her name is Karen) in the hospital, they all cried and comforted her and prayed. Karen said she felt responsible for her husband's death, but she shared that just 2 days prior, as the couple was driving somewhere, Karen's husband turned to her and he told her how much he loved her, but mostly that he wanted her to know that he had asked Jesus to be his Savior.
I just cried over God's faithfulness. While He didn't step in to change the course of those events, Karen's husband's salvation was sealed and He knew that Karen would need to know that when this accident occurred. /
The next thing I want to tell you is what happened this morning at my new found ministry/job.

This Christian man that I work for truly has the Holy Spirit flowing in him. He is so gentle and even keeled all the time, even in these very trying times when his business is at stake. One of his mechanics came running into the shop telling him that the boat that they had just readied for delivery and was parked down the block at the church, had had the motor stolen during the night. In their hase, they just cut all the cables and really did a number on the control box. I could see by the expression on his face that he was losing his composure, but mostly because he was going to have to replace the motor that day at the cost of about $1500 and many hours of labor. He left the building and called the police and then called some of the local parts stores warning them of someone trying to move a motor.
So I just felt God's urging and I began to pray and just lifted this man up and turned it over to the Lord for His justice in this situation. It wasn't 10 minutes later that I received a call from "someone" wanting to know how much a particular type of motor was worth. I just knew that God was working there and I told Greg and he got on the phone and was very calm and he said, well a ball park figure is this, but if you can get me the serial number I can tell you exactly what it's worth. So the guy hangs up and we had already gotten his number on the caller-id and I had reversed it and got his address. The police were already on their way when the ding dong actually calls back with the serial number!!!
The police called and Greg went down there and low and behold, it was our motor! They arrested the man and he is being held on a number of other robberies in the area.
He just makes everything right.
We serve such an incredible and awesome God! /
