The weather has been SO warm here the grass is turning green again... It thinks it's spring...

same here...after the freeze last week it's beautiful out...spring my favorite time of the year....new beginnings...it's been a fantastic weekend (Red Hot Date Alert) lol ...ok I'm going to girl world...u guys are outta tha loop

Not me Fasting in January though. The church does a corporate fast to correct after the excess of the holidays and to start the new year right, by seeking God

Our church in Florida did that, but they followed what they called the "fast of David". Has anyone ever heard of that one? You could only eat the things that grew or came forth from the earth. There was a whole booklet of scripture to read and follow for each day. It was a 30 day fast.

I'll be praying for you Steve. The longest I ever maintained a fast was about 7 days.

Al and Mel, I'm with you. I've tried watching in between dinners out and parties in, but it's been hard. Tonight should be the last gift exchange involving food. I have to work tomorrow and we have an end of the year luncheon. I have a houseful of teens coming over for New Year's Eve. I know it will be a night full of junk food, but hopefully I'll be tucked away with my own sushi, a bottle of Asti (just for a toast at midnight mind you) and either a weepy chick flick or a good book.

Melanie is on diet for David, does that count? His digestive system isn' quite ready for all the gumbo and stuff we eat, so we have to give him a couple months to mature.

Myself, I have to diet and lose some weight for health reasons, cholesterol and triglycerides aren't my friends I alway feel better when I'm lighter as well, I go back to the doc in 4-5 weeks and need to have made more progress by then

Fasting is good for the body for sure. Gives the ole colon a little rest ...hehehe.
good for the spirit too, causes one to press into God when the emphasis is spiritual. Physical hunger brings about spiritual hunger.

I am gonna do the sensible thing and eat fresh fruit and veggies and fish and skinless chicken. Low fat and low calorie... and then I am gonna add massive amounts of steroids to get that BOOST!!!!

We're gonna join the gym next week - the same one Amy Lou and Forever and their spouses go to It's only ~4 blocks from home and has lots of stuff for variety in training.

DOH! I had my "D"'s wrong... It was the Daniel fast... ROFL Just things grown from the earth. Nothing bleached or processed. Fruits veggies, brown grains, water 100% fruit or veggie juice.

I signed our renewal lease this week. It's the first house in 10 years that we will have lived in for more than one year. Thank you Jesus. \0/

We've had 3 days of mostly sun

Before then we had something like 3 weeks of clouds and freezing rain

My sister in law called me at 10:45 last night just to tell me she just shut off the pool lights and they were coming in from sitting outside.

We've been close to -20 with the wind chill the last couple of days...
