Last Wed. night was a success because God had HIS way! Everyone knows that for the past 2 months SYATP has been a major topic on the website. The rally has been in the works and many have had their hand in putting it together, but Wed. night God moved. And that's what was important! It just amazed me. Not because I thought God wasn't leading it but because it doesn't matter who sings, who prays, the decorations, food, etc. If God is not there..you feel His absence. But He chose to meet us out there in World's Gym parking lot. A parking lot for crying out loud! I know God meets you where you are, and the thought that such a mighty King loves to enjoy His people in at a place where people park their cars just makes me smile!
One of the coolest parts of the evening for me was talking to a senior from Kelly High School. She had been a little nervous about praying so we talked about what to say. After she finished, we talked a little more and she made a comment about 'not having as much passion as we did.' I realized God had opened a small but definite door for me. Personally, besides meeting God, that night was about meeting this young girl. I now have an opportunity to show someone the Christ I know! That's what ministry is about...not looking to the person to the right or left, not focusing on what we can do for HIm, but getting focused on Him and what the Word says. That's how you become an example. And when we "humble ourselves and seek Him" people will see that passion in us and recognize the hunger within themselves. God opens up doors for ministry not us.
Be encouraged to seek after God even more than you are now! He has soo much for His people. And the things you are praying for right now but see no answer- don't lose faith! What a mighty God we serve- a God of the seen and the UNSEEN, on with PERFECT timing, one who loves you JUST the way you are!
