I've been hesitant to post here because as a Mormon I have an entirely different set of praise songs to choose from and I might just eat up all the band width posting them all if I get started.

I sing this song to my boys most nights at they go to sleep. It's called "I heard him come" and it's a Mormon Pop classic by Jeff Goodrich.

Hey Everyone!

Just got in from church and we sang a beautiful worship song tonight. I have been in church a long, long time and I have never heard this one. I am sure that it has been around....I am the one that plays "catch up" on all the latest...lol

I think that this affected me or sorta spoke to me because, I have always wanted to please God. I love Him so much. But, although I have always desired to please Him....I know within my heart of hearts that I have failed him miserably at times. I know that as long as I live, I will still be flesh and that I will have to continue seeking refuge in His strength. And even on the best of days....I realize that my rightousness is nothing...(the Bible says that our rightousness is as filthy rags...) I hope to get to a place in my relationship with God, that I can say, "If You never do another thing for me, never bless me...or seemingly hear another one of my prayers...I will love you ANYWAY. Because of who You are to me...not what you can do for me".

Got long winded again. Sorry. I just love Him. And like the song says... I don't exactly know how to say how I feel.

I know that Kirk Franklin may not be many of y'alls genre, but, I love him. Matter of fact, for my birthday last year, I took myself to see him and Yolanda Adams and Donnie Mc Clurkin in concert. It was a big huge church service rather than a concert. It was incredible. Well, a few months ago, I voluntered some time out at Boys Haven and one of the boys was flipping through my CD's. He found my Nu Nation Project. This guy just began to sing (word for word) these songs... you talk about a voice, now...he possessed more talent in his little finger than I have entirely. It saddened me that he was at a place for troubled kids...or kids that were simply not wanted. Someone, some where in his life planted a seed. I have no doubt that he will be used in a mighty way for Gods bidness (as Allen says it!). Anyway, he still has my CD. I consider it an investment....because, I finally replaced mine yesterday! Woo Hoo!!! Said all that...to talk about #9 "Hold Me Now". That one got me through a many a night when my grandma was sick unto death for many months. I drove back and forth from TX to LA to care for her. And there was many times that I felt alone. It was through all this that I learned that "alone" doesn't necessarily mean "lonely". But there were some dark nights during that time. In those times, I experienced a weariness like I had never been acquainted with. So, tired...sometimes, to even mutter a prayer. After that situation was all said and done...I sat down and hand wrote two thank you letters to two elderly sisters at the church that I had gone to since I was a teenager. For, I had realized that it was their prayers for me....that saw me through.
That song says "God CAN and He WILL....Hold you NOW...." I love that. It talks about being broken, too. But that is a whole 'nother post.

Please forgive the long post...I sometimes don't know (really) where all this comes from.

I am just so very thankful that he knows me. I mean REALLY knows me. (And that He LOVES me, despite myself!)
