The strangest thing happened tonight at work. I wasn't wearing any kind of Christian T-shirt or anything (although I was wearing my dog-tags), but people that I don't even know were just coming up to me and telling me they wanted to get involved in church and asked me how to go about it! It started with two really nice people--one who had been to Stand for the first time Monday and was touched by Ed's message--and his friend. He invited her to go and I told them a little about Stand and OneDay, and I gave her a card. From then on, during the night, people just would come up to the bar, start a conversation, and it ultimatley ended up on the subject of needing to find Christian friends and a church home. And so I was able to give them Stand cards and even witness a little more to some of them! (Now I need some more cards...I only have one left) Anyway...just thought I'd share that with you guys. People are hungry. They know that they are searching for something that they haven't yet found and they are so ready! They are out there hurting and dying for someone to care for them. Tonight, people came to ME. I think God was sending me this message: See? They are out there and they don't always know where to turn. Now go out and get them!!!

That does sound a little strange, tho I guess it could be a good conversation starter: "Ummm... I couldn't help noticing your ummm... dog tags... could you er, ummm, tell me how to get involved in church?"

Just kidding...that is a great testimony forever. I, for one, always pray for boldness in witnessing, yet I always chicken-out when the time comes that I should be stepping out. The hunger is out there, yes. It is our duty (calling) to share what they are hungry for (also known as the Great Commission - Mark 16:15 ). You are a great example of what the Lord can do through us, if we only obey. Thank you for sharing that.

They weren't regular dog tags...they were the Shields of Strenght ones with the scripture verses on them...

For some reason dogtags are very popular latly. Espically the stand ones. i always have people coming uo to me asking where I got them!! Who actually thought of them?

I'm with David "foreverchanged" Umm... err...I want to know when they changed the dress code at the coffee shop and I wonder if the same ploy would help me win people to Christ. I'll try it tomorrow wish me luck.

Oh yea the real reason I was writing this was to tell you to remind me after STAND tomorrow night and I will give you some more cards. You rock!!
