I was driving a van (and 4 people with me) out to the middle of nowhere down the Natchez Trace here in Tennessee. No cars around , no people around just us. We ran out of gas at one of the overpasses of the Trace. Probably 5 or 6 miles to a gas station, as we were getting closer to our destination. No gas can, nothing. What to do, no cell phone reception , i mean nothing. So, we are all standing around the van wondering what to do next and here comes this little moped off the offramp of the Trace right towards us. He doesnt go past us , he just stops and asks if we "ran out of gas". I reply, "yes sir, can you imagine that out here in the middle of nowhere, i guess i just wasnt paying attention and thought we could make it to town." He just said "I'll be right back". When he got on his moped I noticed strapped to the back was none other than a gas can....nothing else on his moped, just a gas can. In a moment he was back with a gallon of gas and a smile. We all tried to pay him 5,10,15 bucks but he refused adamantly(as if he did not need money, he would not even let us pay for the gas). He got back on his moped and got right back on the Natchez Trace and was gone. I dont even know if he came in for a reason, other than to help us out. He was a little man, quiet, old, unintimidating, almost uneducated and simple-minded even. He came and went in only a few moments, we had only waited maybe, maybe ,10 minutes and we were on our way. I firmly believe God dispatched an angel in the form of this little man that day to rescue us, but more importantly to etch in my mind how much He cares for me and to help me to remember He is watching over me, and when I need him , even for some gasoline, He is available to help.
