It could be that church did, but they weren't operating under their own stated beliefs from the church leaders... another way for confusion to sneak into new believers and enthusiastic supporters.

Philippians 2:12-13

Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

I am pretty sure the people (in forever's and embie's cases) were probably well-meaning, but causing someone to doubt their own salvation is not what we're supposed to be about.

Wasn't tryin to debate this guy, but he started repremanding me publicly for talking about what I believed because I was spreading a "false doctrine" and causing people to believe in a false salvation.

I wouldn't wanna do that...and I don't know why he shook me so bad...perhaps it's because my walk with God isn't what it should be to begin with and I was allready feeling a little funky...Not really been myself the past few days. Maybe it's hormones...who knows? Up and down up and down.

Trying to stay up!! So thanks to everyone who encourages me daily here on this site...everyone who makes fun of me, makes me answer crazy questions...you know who you are.

Really, none of us know, we belive and that should be a common bond, not a divider, so that we can share experiences with each other, respect eachothers opinions, and most of all learn more about God

God stands up for Himself you know And it's not easy to debate with guys like the one you met.

A former Pastor of mine always said..."I've come to the realization that I am going to be very surprised by who I see in Heaven...I'm going to get to know them while I'm still on this Earth..."

It is so true...no one knows for sure, it's not up to us...our focus should be on our OWNpersonal relationship with the Lord and not our neighbor's. We'll be standing alone when we are face to face with the Lord, accounting for our lives...no sense hanging on to someone else now...

The church I presently attend is made up of people from all theological/agnostic backgrounds... they are seeking the same Christ the shepherds and wisemen were seeking not so long ago tho...
